ਤਾ ਤੇ ਮੈ ਅਪਨੇ ਸਦਨ ਦਿਜਬਰ ਲਿਯੋ ਬੁਲਾਇ ॥

taa te mai apane sadan dijabar liyo bulaae |

‘(To seek an antidote) I called a Brahmin to the house,

ਉਨ ਮੋ ਕੋ ਐਸੇ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਭੇਦ ਸਕਲ ਸਮਝਾਇ ॥੮॥

aun mo ko aise kahiyo bhed sakal samajhaae |8|

‘And the Brahmin made me to understand this.(8)

ਜੋ ਕੋਊ ਨਾਰਿ ਪਤਿਬ੍ਰਤਾ ਜਾਪੁ ਜਪੈ ਹਿਤੁ ਲਾਇ ॥

jo koaoo naar patibrataa jaap japai hit laae |

‘A Raja-like person was manifested

ਅਕਸ ਮਾਤ੍ਰ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੈ ਪੁਰਖ ਏਕ ਭੂਪ ਕੇ ਭਾਇ ॥੯॥

akas maatr pragattai purakh ek bhoop ke bhaae |9|

When a chaste woman meditated with devotion.(9)

ਜੌ ਤੁਮਰੇ ਸਿਰ ਜਾਇ ਧਰਿ ਪੁਰਖ ਪਾਵ ਬਡਭਾਗ ॥

jau tumare sir jaae dhar purakh paav baddabhaag |

‘If that person walked over putting his feet on your head and saying nothing,

ਜੋ ਤੁਮ ਹੂੰ ਜੀਵਤ ਬਚੋ ਹਮਰੋ ਬਚੈ ਸੁਹਾਗ ॥੧੦॥

jo tum hoon jeevat bacho hamaro bachai suhaag |10|

‘Then you could live long and save my nuptial tie.(10)

ਤਾ ਤੇ ਤਵ ਆਗ︀ਯਾ ਭਏ ਜਾਪੁ ਜਪਤ ਹੌ ਜਾਇ ॥

taa te tav aagayaa bhe jaap japat hau jaae |

‘Now with your permission I meditate because with your demise I

ਤੁਮਰੇ ਮਰੇ ਮੈ ਜਰਿ ਮਰੋ ਜਿਯੇ ਜਿਵੋ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇ ॥੧੧॥

tumare mare mai jar maro jiye jivo sukh paae |11|

Will immolate myself and along with your life (hereafter) I will enjoy the serenity.’(11)

ਜੌ ਹੌ ਹੋ ਸੁ ਪਤਿਬ੍ਰਤਾ ਜੌ ਮੋ ਮੈ ਸਤ ਆਇ ॥

jau hau ho su patibrataa jau mo mai sat aae |

Then the woman mediated and beseeched, ‘If I am chaste and virtuous,

ਏਕ ਪੁਰਖ ਤਬ ਜਾਇ ਧਰਿ ਯਾ ਕੇ ਸਿਰ ਪਰਿ ਪਾਇ ॥੧੨॥

ek purakh tab jaae dhar yaa ke sir par paae |12|

A personality should manifest and walk over putting one foot on the head of my husband.’(l2)

ਸੁਨਤ ਬਚਨ ਰਾਜਾ ਉਠਿਯੋ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਸਿਰ ਪਗ ਠਾਨਿ ॥

sunat bachan raajaa utthiyo taa ke sir pag tthaan |

Hearing this the Raja got up, putting his foot on his head walked

ਗਯੋ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ︀ਯ ਮੂਰਖ ਭਯੋ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਪਤਿਬ੍ਰਤ ਜਾਨਿ ॥੧੩॥

gayo prasanay moorakh bhayo triyaa patibrat jaan |13|

Over. And that fool, considering his wife to be beyond reproach, was delighted.( 13)(1)
