Gauree Poorbee, Fourth Mehl:

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਅਰਥਿ ਸਰੀਰੁ ਹਮ ਬੇਚਿਆ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਆਗੇ ॥

har har arath sareer ham bechiaa poore gur kai aage |

For the sake of the Lord, Har, Har, I have sold my body to the Perfect Guru.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਦਾਤੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਦਿੜਾਇਆ ਮੁਖਿ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਭਾਗ ਸਭਾਗੇ ॥੧॥

satigur daatai naam dirraaeaa mukh masatak bhaag sabhaage |1|

The True Guru, the Giver, has implanted the Naam, the Name of the Lord, within me. A very blessed and fortunate destiny is recorded upon my forehead. ||1||

ਰਾਮ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

Through the Guru's Teachings, I am lovingly centered on the Lord. ||1||Pause||

ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਰਮਈਆ ਰਮਤ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਇ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੇ ॥

ghatt ghatt rameea ramat raam raae gur sabad guroo liv laage |

The All-pervading Sovereign Lord King is contained in each and every heart. Through the Guru, and the Word of the Guru's Shabad, I am lovingly centered on the Lord.

ਹਉ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਦੇਵਉ ਕਾਟਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਕਉ ਮੇਰਾ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨੀ ਭਾਗੇ ॥੨॥

hau man tan devau kaatt guroo kau meraa bhram bhau gur bachanee bhaage |2|

Cutting my mind and body into pieces, I offer them to my Guru. The Guru's Teachings have dispelled my doubt and fear. ||2||

ਅੰਧਿਆਰੈ ਦੀਪਕ ਆਨਿ ਜਲਾਏ ਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੇ ॥

andhiaarai deepak aan jalaae gur giaan guroo liv laage |

In the darkness, the Guru has lit the lamp of the Guru's wisdom; I am lovingly focused on the Lord.

ਅਗਿਆਨੁ ਅੰਧੇਰਾ ਬਿਨਸਿ ਬਿਨਾਸਿਓ ਘਰਿ ਵਸਤੁ ਲਹੀ ਮਨ ਜਾਗੇ ॥੩॥

agiaan andheraa binas binaasio ghar vasat lahee man jaage |3|

The darkness of ignorance has been dispelled, and my mind has been awakened; within the home of my inner being, I have found the genuine article. ||3||

ਸਾਕਤ ਬਧਿਕ ਮਾਇਆਧਾਰੀ ਤਿਨ ਜਮ ਜੋਹਨਿ ਲਾਗੇ ॥

saakat badhik maaeaadhaaree tin jam johan laage |

The vicious hunters, the faithless cynics, are hunted down by the Messenger of Death.

ਉਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਆਗੈ ਸੀਸੁ ਨ ਬੇਚਿਆ ਓਇ ਆਵਹਿ ਜਾਹਿ ਅਭਾਗੇ ॥੪॥

aun satigur aagai sees na bechiaa oe aaveh jaeh abhaage |4|

They have not sold their heads to the True Guru; those wretched, unfortunate ones continue coming and going in reincarnation. ||4||

ਹਮਰਾ ਬਿਨਉ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਹਮ ਸਰਣਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਰਿ ਮਾਗੇ ॥

hamaraa binau sunahu prabh tthaakur ham saran prabhoo har maage |

Hear my prayer, O God, my Lord and Master: I beg for the Sanctuary of the Lord God.

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਲਜ ਪਾਤਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੈ ਸਿਰੁ ਬੇਚਿਓ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਆਗੇ ॥੫॥੧੦॥੨੪॥੬੨॥

jan naanak kee laj paat guroo hai sir bechio satigur aage |5|10|24|62|

Servant Nanak's honor and respect is the Guru; he has sold his head to the True Guru. ||5||10||24||62||
