ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇਓ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਮਤਿ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਦੂਖ ਵਿਸਾਰੀ ॥
anadin har har dhiaaeo hiradai mat guramat dookh visaaree |
Night and day, I meditate on the Lord, Har, Har, within my heart; through the Guru's Teachings, my pain is forgotten.
ਸਭ ਆਸਾ ਮਨਸਾ ਬੰਧਨ ਤੂਟੇ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
sabh aasaa manasaa bandhan tootte har har prabh kirapaa dhaaree |1|
The chains of all my hopes and desires have been snapped; my Lord God has showered me with His Mercy. ||1||
ਨੈਨੀ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਲਾਗੀ ਤਾਰੀ ॥
nainee har har laagee taaree |
My eyes gaze eternally on the Lord, Har, Har.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਬਿਗਸਿਓ ਜਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਬਨਵਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
satigur dekh meraa man bigasio jan har bhettio banavaaree |1| rahaau |
Gazing on the True Guru, my mind blossoms forth. I have met with the Lord, the Lord of the World. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਨਿ ਐਸਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਆ ਮੇਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਤਿਸ ਕੈ ਕੁਲਿ ਲਾਗੀ ਗਾਰੀ ॥
jin aisaa naam visaariaa meraa har har tis kai kul laagee gaaree |
One who forgets such a Name of the Lord, Har, Har - his family is dishonored.
ਹਰਿ ਤਿਸ ਕੈ ਕੁਲਿ ਪਰਸੂਤਿ ਨ ਕਰੀਅਹੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਧਵਾ ਕਰਿ ਮਹਤਾਰੀ ॥੨॥
har tis kai kul parasoot na kareeahu tis bidhavaa kar mahataaree |2|
His family is sterile and barren, and his mother is made a widow. ||2||
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਆਨਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਹੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਾਧੂ ਜਿਸੁ ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਹਰਿ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰੀ ॥
har har aan milaavahu gur saadhoo jis ahinis har ur dhaaree |
O Lord, let me meet the Holy Guru, who night and day keep the Lord enshrined in his heart.
ਗੁਰਿ ਡੀਠੈ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਿਖੁ ਬਿਗਸੈ ਜਿਉ ਬਾਰਿਕੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਮਹਤਾਰੀ ॥੩॥
gur ddeetthai gur kaa sikh bigasai jiau baarik dekh mahataaree |3|
Seeing the Guru, the GurSikh blossoms forth, like the child seeing his mother. ||3||
ਧਨ ਪਿਰ ਕਾ ਇਕ ਹੀ ਸੰਗਿ ਵਾਸਾ ਵਿਚਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਭੀਤਿ ਕਰਾਰੀ ॥
dhan pir kaa ik hee sang vaasaa vich haumai bheet karaaree |
The soul-bride and the Husband Lord live together as one, but the hard wall of egotism has come between them.
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਹਉਮੈ ਭੀਤਿ ਤੋਰੀ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਿਲੇ ਬਨਵਾਰੀ ॥੪॥੧॥
gur poorai haumai bheet toree jan naanak mile banavaaree |4|1|
The Perfect Guru demolishes the wall of egotism; servant Nanak has met the Lord, the Lord of the World. ||4||1||
