ਬਨਿਯੋ ਹੇਤ ਬਨਿਜ ਕੋ ਗਯੋ ॥
baniyo het banij ko gayo |
ਮੈਨ ਦੁਖ︀ਯ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਕੋ ਅਤਿ ਦਯੋ ॥
main dukhay triy ko at dayo |
The Shah once went out on a business and the wife became very distressed with the urge of sex.
ਤਿਹ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਪੈ ਤੇ ਰਹਿਯੋ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥
tih triy pai te rahiyo na jaaee |
ਕੇਲ ਕਿਯੋ ਇਕ ਪੁਰਖ ਬੁਲਾਈ ॥੨॥
kel kiyo ik purakh bulaaee |2|
She could not control herself and called in a man for love-making.
ਕੇਲ ਕਮਾਤ ਗਰਭ ਰਹਿ ਗਯੋ ॥
kel kamaat garabh reh gayo |
ਕੀਨੇ ਜਤਨ ਦੂਰਿ ਨਹਿ ਭਯੋ ॥
keene jatan door neh bhayo |
With sex-play she became pregnant and, in spite of hard efforts she could not abort.
ਨਵ ਮਾਸਨ ਪਾਛੇ ਸੁਤ ਜਾਯੋ ॥
nav maasan paachhe sut jaayo |
ਤਵਨਹਿ ਦਿਵਸ ਬਨਿਕ ਘਰ ਆਯੋ ॥੩॥
tavaneh divas banik ghar aayo |3|
After nine months a son was born, and that day the Shah came back as well.(3)
ਬਨਿਕ ਕੋਪ ਕਰਿ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਨਾਯੋ ॥
banik kop kar bachan sunaayo |
ਕਛੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਤੈ ਬਿਭਚਾਰ ਕਮਾਯੋ ॥
kachh triy tai bibhachaar kamaayo |
The Shah, in right fury, asked, ‘Oh, woman you have indulged in debauchery.
ਭੋਗ ਕਰੇ ਬਿਨੁ ਪੂਤ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥
bhog kare bin poot na hoee |
ਬਾਲ ਬ੍ਰਿਧ ਜਾਨਤ ਸਭ ਕੋਈ ॥੪॥
baal bridh jaanat sabh koee |4|
‘Without making-love a son cannot be born, as all the young and old know this.’(4)
ਸੁਨਹੁ ਸਾਹੁ ਮੈ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਨਾਊ ॥
sunahu saahu mai kathaa sunaaoo |
ਤੁਮਰੇ ਚਿਤ ਕੋ ਭਰਮੁ ਮਿਟਾਊ ॥
tumare chit ko bharam mittaaoo |
‘Listen, my Shah, I will tell you the story and it will eradicate all the doubts from your heart.
ਇਕ ਜੋਗੀ ਤੁਮਰੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਆਯੋ ॥
eik jogee tumare grih aayo |
ਤਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਤੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਸੁਤ ਪਾਯੋ ॥੫॥
tih prasaad te grih sut paayo |5|
‘A yogi came in our house in your absence, and due to his benevolence this son is born.’(5)
