Saarang, Ninth Mehl:

ਕਹਾ ਨਰ ਅਪਨੋ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਵੈ ॥

kahaa nar apano janam gavaavai |

O mortal, why have you wasted your life?

ਮਾਇਆ ਮਦਿ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਰਸਿ ਰਚਿਓ ਰਾਮ ਸਰਨਿ ਨਹੀ ਆਵੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

maaeaa mad bikhiaa ras rachio raam saran nahee aavai |1| rahaau |

Intoxicated with Maya and its riches, involved in corrupt pleasures, you have not sought the Sanctuary of the Lord. ||1||Pause||

ਇਹੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਸਗਲ ਹੈ ਸੁਪਨੋ ਦੇਖਿ ਕਹਾ ਲੋਭਾਵੈ ॥

eihu sansaar sagal hai supano dekh kahaa lobhaavai |

This whole world is just a dream; why does seeing it fill you with greed?

ਜੋ ਉਪਜੈ ਸੋ ਸਗਲ ਬਿਨਾਸੈ ਰਹਨੁ ਨ ਕੋਊ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੧॥

jo upajai so sagal binaasai rehan na koaoo paavai |1|

Everything that has been created will be destroyed; nothing will remain. ||1||

ਮਿਥਿਆ ਤਨੁ ਸਾਚੋ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਨਿਓ ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਆਪੁ ਬੰਧਾਵੈ ॥

mithiaa tan saacho kar maanio ih bidh aap bandhaavai |

You see this false body as true; in this way, you have placed yourself in bondage.

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋਊ ਜਨੁ ਮੁਕਤਾ ਰਾਮ ਭਜਨ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਵੈ ॥੨॥੩॥

jan naanak soaoo jan mukataa raam bhajan chit laavai |2|3|

O servant Nanak, he is a liberated being, whose consciousness lovingly vibrates, and meditates on the Lord. ||2||3||
