ਅਥ ਹਨੂਮਾਨ ਸੋਧ ਕੋ ਪਠੈਬੋ ॥

Now begins the description of sending of Hanuman in search of Sita :

GEETA MALTI STANZA
ਦਲ ਬਾਟ ਚਾਰ ਦਿਸਾ ਪਠਯੋ ਹਨਵੰਤ ਲੰਕ ਪਠੈ ਦਏ ॥
dal baatt chaar disaa patthayo hanavant lank patthai de |
The army of monkeys was divided into four parts and sent in all the four directions and Hanuman was sent to Lanka.
ਲੈ ਮੁਦ੍ਰਕਾ ਲਖ ਬਾਰਿਧੈ ਜਹ ਸੀ ਹੁਤੀ ਤਹ ਜਾਤ ਭੇ ॥
lai mudrakaa lakh baaridhai jeh see hutee teh jaat bhe |
Hanuman took the ring (of Rama) and immediately went and crossed the sea, he reached the place where Sita was kept (by Ravana).
ਪੁਰ ਜਾਰਿ ਅਛ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਛੈ ਬਨ ਟਾਰਿ ਕੈ ਫਿਰ ਆਇਯੋ ॥
pur jaar achh kumaar chhai ban ttaar kai fir aaeiyo |
Destroying Lanka, killing Akshay Kumar and devastating Ashok Vatika, Hanuman came back,
ਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਚਾਰ ਜੋ ਅਮਰਾਰਿ ਕੋ ਸਭ ਰਾਮ ਤੀਰ ਜਤਾਇਯੋ ॥੩੬੬॥
krit chaar jo amaraar ko sabh raam teer jataaeiyo |366|
And presented before Ram the creations of Ravana, the ememy of gods.366.
ਦਲ ਜੋਰ ਕੋਰ ਕਰੋਰ ਲੈ ਬਡ ਘੋਰ ਤੋਰ ਸਭੈ ਚਲੇ ॥
dal jor kor karor lai badd ghor tor sabhai chale |
Now combining all the forces they all proceeded (with millions of fighters),
ਰਾਮਚੰਦ੍ਰ ਸੁਗ੍ਰੀਵ ਲਛਮਨ ਅਉਰ ਸੂਰ ਭਲੇ ਭਲੇ ॥
raamachandr sugreev lachhaman aaur soor bhale bhale |
And there were mighty warriors like Ram, Sugriva, Lakshman,
ਜਾਮਵੰਤ ਸੁਖੈਨ ਨੀਲ ਹਣਵੰਤ ਅੰਗਦ ਕੇਸਰੀ ॥
jaamavant sukhain neel hanavant angad kesaree |
Jamvant, Sukhen, Neel, Hanuman, Angad etc. in their army.
ਕਪਿ ਪੂਤ ਜੂਥ ਪਜੂਥ ਲੈ ਉਮਡੇ ਚਹੂੰ ਦਿਸ ਕੈ ਝਰੀ ॥੩੬੭॥
kap poot jooth pajooth lai umadde chahoon dis kai jharee |367|
The swarms of troops of the sons of monkeys, gushed forward like clouds from all the four directions.367.
ਪਾਟਿ ਬਾਰਿਧ ਰਾਜ ਕਉ ਕਰਿ ਬਾਟਿ ਲਾਘ ਗਏ ਜਬੈ ॥
paatt baaridh raaj kau kar baatt laagh ge jabai |
When after splitting the sea and forming a passage they all crossed the sea.
ਦੂਤ ਦਈਤਨ ਕੇ ਹੁਤੇ ਤਬ ਦਉਰ ਰਾਵਨ ਪੈ ਗਏ ॥
doot deetan ke hute tab daur raavan pai ge |
Then the messengers of Ravana fled towards him to convey the news.
ਰਨ ਸਾਜ ਬਾਜ ਸਭੈ ਕਰੋ ਇਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਮਨ ਮਾਨੀਐ ॥
ran saaj baaj sabhai karo ik benatee man maaneeai |
They request him to get ready for war.
ਗੜ ਲੰਕ ਬੰਕ ਸੰਭਾਰੀਐ ਰਘੁਬੀਰ ਆਗਮ ਜਾਨੀਐ ॥੩੬੮॥
garr lank bank sanbhaareeai raghubeer aagam jaaneeai |368|
And protect the beautiful city of Lanka from the entry of Ram.368.
ਧੂਮ੍ਰ ਅਛ ਸੁ ਜਾਬਮਾਲ ਬੁਲਾਇ ਵੀਰ ਪਠੈ ਦਏ ॥
dhoomr achh su jaabamaal bulaae veer patthai de |
Ravana called Dhumraksha and Jambumali and sent them for war.
ਸੋਰ ਕੋਰ ਕ੍ਰੋਰ ਕੈ ਜਹਾ ਰਾਮ ਥੇ ਤਹਾ ਜਾਤ ਭੇ ॥
sor kor kror kai jahaa raam the tahaa jaat bhe |
Both them shouting terribly reached near Ram.
ਰੋਸ ਕੈ ਹਨਵੰਤ ਥਾ ਪਗ ਰੋਪ ਪਾਵ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰੀਯੰ ॥
ros kai hanavant thaa pag rop paav prahaareeyan |
Hanuman in great rage firmly stood on the earth on one foot,
ਜੂਝਿ ਭੂਮਿ ਗਿਰਯੋ ਬਲੀ ਸੁਰ ਲੋਕ ਮਾਝਿ ਬਿਹਾਰੀਯੰ ॥੩੬੯॥
joojh bhoom girayo balee sur lok maajh bihaareeyan |369|
And attacked violently with his second foot with which the mighty Dhumraksha fell down and died.369.
ਜਾਬਮਾਲ ਭਿਰੇ ਕਛੂ ਪੁਨ ਮਾਰਿ ਐਸੇ ਈ ਕੈ ਲਏ ॥
jaabamaal bhire kachhoo pun maar aise ee kai le |
Then Jambumali fought in the war but he was also killed in the same manner
ਭਾਜ ਕੀਨ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ ਲੰਕ ਸੰਦੇਸ ਰਾਵਨ ਸੋ ਦਏ ॥
bhaaj keen praves lank sandes raavan so de |
The demons accompanying him sped towards Lanka to give the news to Ravana,
ਧੂਮਰਾਛ ਸੁ ਜਾਬਮਾਲ ਦੁਹਹੂੰ ਰਾਘਵ ਜੂ ਹਰਿਓ ॥
dhoomaraachh su jaabamaal duhahoon raaghav joo hario |
That both Dhumraksha and Jambumali had been killed at the hands of Rama.
ਹੈ ਕਛੂ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਕੇ ਹੀਏ ਸੁਭ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਆਵਤ ਸੋ ਕਰੋ ॥੩੭੦॥
hai kachhoo prabh ke hee subh mantr aavat so karo |370|
They requested him, “O Lord! now whatever please you, take any other measure.”370.
ਪੇਖ ਤੀਰ ਅਕੰਪਨੈ ਦਲ ਸੰਗਿ ਦੈ ਸੁ ਪਠੈ ਦਯੋ ॥
pekh teer akanpanai dal sang dai su patthai dayo |
Seeing Akampan near him, Ravana sent him alongwith the forces.
ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਬਜੇ ਬਜੰਤ੍ਰ ਨਿਨਦ ਸਦ ਪੁਰੀ ਭਯੋ ॥
bhaat bhaat baje bajantr ninad sad puree bhayo |
On his departure, many kinds of musical instruments were played, which resounded in the whole city of Lanka.
ਸੁਰ ਰਾਇ ਆਦਿ ਪ੍ਰਹਸਤ ਤੇ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਬਿਚਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
sur raae aad prahasat te ih bhaat mantr bichaariyo |
The ministers including Prahasta held consultation
ਸੀਅ ਦੇ ਮਿਲੋ ਰਘੁਰਾਜ ਕੋ ਕਸ ਰੋਸ ਰਾਵ ਸੰਭਾਰਿਯੋ ॥੩੭੧॥
seea de milo raghuraaj ko kas ros raav sanbhaariyo |371|
And thought that Ravana should return Sita to Ram and not offend him more.371.
