Sorat'h, Fifth Mehl:

ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਿ ਨਿਬਾਹੀ ਪੂਰੀ ॥

paarabraham nibaahee pooree |

The Supreme Lord God has stood by me and fulfilled me,

ਕਾਈ ਬਾਤ ਨ ਰਹੀਆ ਊਰੀ ॥

kaaee baat na raheea aooree |

and nothing is left unfinished.

ਗੁਰਿ ਚਰਨ ਲਾਇ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੇ ॥

gur charan laae nisataare |

Attached to the Guru's feet, I am saved;

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮੑਾਰੇ ॥੧॥

har har naam samaare |1|

I contemplate and cherish the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. ||1||

ਅਪਨੇ ਦਾਸ ਕਾ ਸਦਾ ਰਖਵਾਲਾ ॥

apane daas kaa sadaa rakhavaalaa |

He is forever the Savior of His slaves.

ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਕਰਿ ਰਾਖੇ ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਜਿਉ ਪਾਲਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

kar kirapaa apune kar raakhe maat pitaa jiau paalaa |1| rahaau |

Bestowing His Mercy, He made me His own and preserved me; like a mother or father, He cherishes me. ||1||Pause||

ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥

vaddabhaagee satigur paaeaa |

By great good fortune, I found the True Guru,

ਜਿਨਿ ਜਮ ਕਾ ਪੰਥੁ ਮਿਟਾਇਆ ॥

jin jam kaa panth mittaaeaa |

who obliterated the path of the Messenger of Death.

ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਭਾਇ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਗਾ ॥

har bhagat bhaae chit laagaa |

My consciousness is focused on loving, devotional worship of the Lord.

ਜਪਿ ਜੀਵਹਿ ਸੇ ਵਡਭਾਗਾ ॥੨॥

jap jeeveh se vaddabhaagaa |2|

One who lives in this meditation is very fortunate indeed. ||2||

ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਣੀ ਗਾਵੈ ॥

har amrit baanee gaavai |

He sings the Ambrosial Word of the Guru's Bani,

ਸਾਧਾ ਕੀ ਧੂਰੀ ਨਾਵੈ ॥

saadhaa kee dhooree naavai |

and bathes in the dust of the feet of the Holy.

ਅਪੁਨਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਆਪੇ ਦੀਆ ॥

apunaa naam aape deea |

He Himself bestows His Name.

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਰਣਹਾਰ ਰਖਿ ਲੀਆ ॥੩॥

prabh karanahaar rakh leea |3|

God, the Creator, saves us. ||3||

ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਅਧਾਰਾ ॥

har darasan praan adhaaraa |

The Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan is the support of the breath of life.

ਇਹੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਬਿਮਲ ਬੀਚਾਰਾ ॥

eihu pooran bimal beechaaraa |

This is the perfect, pure wisdom.

ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥

kar kirapaa antarajaamee |

The Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, has granted His Mercy;

ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥੪॥੮॥੫੮॥

daas naanak saran suaamee |4|8|58|

slave Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of his Lord and Master. ||4||8||58||
