Raamkalee, Fifth Mehl:

ਹੋਵੈ ਸੋਈ ਭਲ ਮਾਨੁ ॥

hovai soee bhal maan |

Whatever happens, accept that as good.

ਆਪਨਾ ਤਜਿ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥

aapanaa taj abhimaan |

Leave your egotistical pride behind.

ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਨਿ ਸਦਾ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਉ ॥

din rain sadaa gun gaau |

Day and night, continually sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord.

ਪੂਰਨ ਏਹੀ ਸੁਆਉ ॥੧॥

pooran ehee suaau |1|

This is the perfect purpose of human life. ||1||

ਆਨੰਦ ਕਰਿ ਸੰਤ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿ ॥

aanand kar sant har jap |

Meditate on the Lord, O Saints, and be in bliss.

ਛਾਡਿ ਸਿਆਨਪ ਬਹੁ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਜਪਿ ਮੰਤੁ ਨਿਰਮਲ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

chhaadd siaanap bahu chaturaaee gur kaa jap mant niramal |1| rahaau |

Renounce your cleverness and all your tricks. Chant the Immaculate Chant of the Guru's Mantra. ||1||Pause||

ਏਕ ਕੀ ਕਰਿ ਆਸ ਭੀਤਰਿ ॥

ek kee kar aas bheetar |

Place the hopes of your mind in the One Lord.

ਨਿਰਮਲ ਜਪਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ॥

niramal jap naam har har |

Chant the Immaculate Name of the Lord, Har, Har.

ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਨਮਸਕਾਰਿ ॥

gur ke charan namasakaar |

Bow down to the Guru's Feet,

ਭਵਜਲੁ ਉਤਰਹਿ ਪਾਰਿ ॥੨॥

bhavajal utareh paar |2|

and cross over the terrifying world-ocean. ||2||

ਦੇਵਨਹਾਰ ਦਾਤਾਰ ॥

devanahaar daataar |

The Lord God is the Great Giver.

ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਰਾਵਾਰ ॥

ant na paaraavaar |

He has no end or limitation.

ਜਾ ਕੈ ਘਰਿ ਸਰਬ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥

jaa kai ghar sarab nidhaan |

All treasures are in His home.

ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰ ਨਿਦਾਨ ॥੩॥

raakhanahaar nidaan |3|

He will be your Saving Grace in the end. ||3||

ਨਾਨਕ ਪਾਇਆ ਏਹੁ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥

naanak paaeaa ehu nidhaan |

Nanak has obtained this treasure,

ਹਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਨਾਮ ॥

hare har niramal naam |

the immaculate Name of the Lord, Har, Har.

ਜੋ ਜਪੈ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥

jo japai tis kee gat hoe |

Whoever chants it, is emancipated.

ਨਾਨਕ ਕਰਮਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥੪॥੨੯॥੪੦॥

naanak karam paraapat hoe |4|29|40|

It is obtained only by His Grace. ||4||29||40||
