Soohee, Fifth Mehl:

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਤਰੈ ਭੈ ਸਾਗਰੁ ॥

saadhasang tarai bhai saagar |

Cross over the terrifying world-ocean in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਰਤਨਾਗਰੁ ॥੧॥

har har naam simar ratanaagar |1|

Remember in meditation the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, the source of jewels. ||1||

ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਜੀਵਾ ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ॥

simar simar jeevaa naaraaein |

Remembering, remembering the Lord in meditation, I live.

ਦੂਖ ਰੋਗ ਸੋਗ ਸਭਿ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਮਿਲਿ ਪਾਪ ਤਜਾਇਣ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

dookh rog sog sabh binase gur poore mil paap tajaaein |1| rahaau |

All pain, disease and suffering is dispelled, meeting the Perfect Guru; sin has been eradicated. ||1||Pause||

ਜੀਵਨ ਪਦਵੀ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਉ ॥

jeevan padavee har kaa naau |

The immortal status is obtained through the Name of the Lord;

ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਸਾਚੁ ਸੁਆਉ ॥੨॥

man tan niramal saach suaau |2|

the mind and body become spotless and pure, which is the true purpose of life. ||2||

ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥

aatth pehar paarabraham dhiaaeeai |

Twenty-four hours a day, meditate on the Supreme Lord God.

ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਤੁ ਹੋਇ ਤਾ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੩॥

poorab likhat hoe taa paaeeai |3|

By pre-ordained destiny, the Name is obtained. ||3||

ਸਰਣਿ ਪਏ ਜਪਿ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥

saran pe jap deen deaalaa |

I have entered His Sanctuary, and I meditate on the Lord, Merciful to the meek.

ਨਾਨਕੁ ਜਾਚੈ ਸੰਤ ਰਵਾਲਾ ॥੪॥੨੮॥੩੪॥

naanak jaachai sant ravaalaa |4|28|34|

Nanak longs for the dust of the Saints. ||4||28||34||
