Krishna and Balram played on their fluted after killing the Yaksha
ਰਾਵਨ ਖੇਤ ਮਰਿਯੋ ਕੁਪ ਕੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਰੀਝਿ ਬਿਭੀਛਨ ਦੀਨ ਸੁ ਲੰਕਾ ॥
raavan khet mariyo kup kai jin reejh bibheechhan deen su lankaa |
Krishna had killed Ravana in rage and had given the kingdom of Lanka to Vibhishna

jaa ko lakhiyo kubajaa bal baahan jaa ko lakhiyo mur dait atankaa |
The servant Kubja was saved by his gracious glance and the demon named Mur was destroyed by his looks
ਰੀਝਿ ਬਜਾਇ ਉਠਿਯੋ ਮੁਰਲੀ ਸੋਈ ਜੀਤ ਦੀਯੋ ਜਸੁ ਕੋ ਮਨੋ ਡੰਕਾ ॥੬੪੯॥
reejh bajaae utthiyo muralee soee jeet deeyo jas ko mano ddankaa |649|

ਰੂਖਨ ਤੇ ਰਸ ਚੂਵਨ ਲਾਗ ਝਰੈ ਝਰਨਾ ਗਿਰਿ ਤੇ ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ॥
rookhan te ras choovan laag jharai jharanaa gir te sukhadaaee |
ਘਾਸ ਚੁਗੈ ਨ ਮ੍ਰਿਗਾ ਬਨ ਕੇ ਖਗ ਰੀਝ ਰਹੇ ਧੁਨਿ ਜਾ ਸੁਨਿ ਪਾਈ ॥
ghaas chugai na mrigaa ban ke khag reejh rahe dhun jaa sun paaee |
On hearing the sound of the flute, the sap of the trees began to drip and peace-giving currents flowed, on hearing it, deer abandoned the grazing of grass and the birds of the forest also were fascinated
ਦੇਵ ਗੰਧਾਰਿ ਬਿਲਾਵਲ ਸਾਰੰਗ ਕੀ ਰਿਝ ਕੈ ਜਿਹ ਤਾਨ ਬਸਾਈ ॥
dev gandhaar bilaaval saarang kee rijh kai jih taan basaaee |
ਦੇਵ ਸਭੈ ਮਿਲਿ ਦੇਖਤ ਕਉਤਕ ਜਉ ਮੁਰਲੀ ਨੰਦ ਲਾਲ ਬਜਾਈ ॥੬੫੦॥
dev sabhai mil dekhat kautak jau muralee nand laal bajaaee |650|
The tunes of the musical modes of Devgandhar, Bilawal and Sarang were played from the flute and seeing Krishna, the son of Nand, playing on the flute, the god also got together to visualize the scene.650.
ਠਾਢ ਰਹੀ ਜਮੁਨਾ ਸੁਨਿ ਕੈ ਧੁਨਿ ਰਾਗ ਭਲੇ ਸੁਨਬੇ ਕੋ ਚਹੇ ਹੈ ॥
tthaadt rahee jamunaa sun kai dhun raag bhale sunabe ko chahe hai |
With the desire of listening to the music, Yamuna also became motionless
ਮੋਹਿ ਰਹੇ ਬਨ ਕੇ ਗਜ ਅਉ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਇਕਠੇ ਮਿਲਿ ਆਵਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਹੇ ਹੈ ॥
mohi rahe ban ke gaj aau mrig ikatthe mil aavat singh sahe hai |
The elephants, lions and rabbits of the forest are also getting allured
ਆਵਤ ਹੈ ਸੁਰ ਮੰਡਲ ਕੇ ਸੁਰ ਤ︀ਯਾਗਿ ਸਭੈ ਸੁਰ ਧ︀ਯਾਨ ਫਹੇ ਹੈ ॥
aavat hai sur manddal ke sur tayaag sabhai sur dhayaan fahe hai |
The gods also, abandoning the heaven, are coming under the impact of the tune of flute
ਸੋ ਸੁਨਿ ਕੈ ਬਨ ਕੇ ਖਗਵਾ ਤਰੁ ਊਪਰ ਪੰਖ ਪਸਾਰਿ ਰਹੇ ਹੈ ॥੬੫੧॥
so sun kai ban ke khagavaa tar aoopar pankh pasaar rahe hai |651|
Hearing the sound of the same flute, the birds of the forest, spreading their wings on the trees, are absorbed in it.651.
ਜੋਊ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਖੇਲਤ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਸੋ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਹਿਤ ਕੈ ਨ ਕਛੂ ਧਨ ਮੈ ॥
joaoo gvaarin khelat hai har so at hee hit kai na kachhoo dhan mai |
The gopis, who are playing with Krishna, have extreme love in their mind
ਅਤਿ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਪੈ ਜਿਹ ਬੀਚ ਲਸੈ ਫੁਨਿ ਕੰਚਨ ਕੀ ਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਤਨ ਮੈ ॥
at sundar pai jih beech lasai fun kanchan kee su prabhaa tan mai |
Very who have the bodies of gold, are extremely winsome
ਜੋਊ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮੁਖੀ ਕਟਿ ਕੇਹਰਿ ਸੀ ਸੁ ਬਿਰਾਜਤ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਕੇ ਗਨ ਮੈ ॥
joaoo chandramukhee katt kehar see su biraajat gvaarin ke gan mai |
The gopi named Chandarmukhi, having slim waist like lion, appears splendid amongst other gopis,
ਸੁਨਿ ਕੈ ਮੁਰਲੀ ਧੁਨਿ ਸ੍ਰਉਨਨ ਮੈ ਅਤਿ ਰੀਝਿ ਗਿਰੀ ਸੁ ਮਨੋ ਬਨ ਮੈ ॥੬੫੨॥
sun kai muralee dhun sraunan mai at reejh giree su mano ban mai |652|
Hearing the sound of the flute and being fascinated, she fell down.652.
ਇਹ ਕਉਤੁਕ ਕੈ ਸੁ ਚਲੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਕੋ ਫੁਨਿ ਗਾਵਤ ਗੀਤ ਹਲੀ ਹਰਿ ਆਛੇ ॥
eih kautuk kai su chale grih ko fun gaavat geet halee har aachhe |
Having performed this wonderful play, Krishna and Balram came home singing
ਸੁੰਦਰ ਬੀਚ ਅਖਾਰੇ ਕਿਧੌ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਨਟੂਆ ਜਨੁ ਕਾਛੇ ॥
sundar beech akhaare kidhau kab sayaam kahai nattooaa jan kaachhe |
The beautiful arenas and dancing theatres in the city have a magnificent look
ਰਾਜਤ ਹੈ ਬਲਭਦ੍ਰ ਕੇ ਨੈਨ ਯੌਂ ਮਾਨੋ ਢਰੇ ਇਹ ਮੈਨ ਕੇ ਸਾਛੇ ॥
raajat hai balabhadr ke nain yauan maano dtare ih main ke saachhe |
The eyes of Balram appear to have been prepared in the mould of god of love
ਸੁੰਦਰ ਹੈ ਰਤਿ ਕੇ ਪਤਿ ਤੈ ਅਤਿ ਮਾਨਹੁ ਡਾਰਤ ਮੈਨਹਿ ਪਾਛੇ ॥੬੫੩॥
sundar hai rat ke pat tai at maanahu ddaarat maineh paachhe |653|
They are so charming that the god of love feels shy.653.
ਬੀਚ ਮਨੈ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਇ ਤਬੈ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਕੌ ਸੁ ਚਲੇ ਰਿਪੁ ਕੌ ਹਨਿ ਦੋਊ ॥
beech manai sukh paae tabai grih kau su chale rip kau han doaoo |
Being pleased in the mind and killing the enemy, both have gone away to their home
ਚੰਦ੍ਰਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਸਮ ਜਾ ਮੁਖ ਉਪਮ ਜਾ ਸਮ ਉਪਮ ਹੈ ਨਹਿ ਕੋਊ ॥
chandraprabhaa sam jaa mukh upam jaa sam upam hai neh koaoo |
They have the faces like moon, which can’t be compared with any other
ਦੇਖਤ ਰੀਝ ਰਹੈ ਜਿਹ ਕੋ ਰਿਪੁ ਰੀਝਤ ਸੋ ਇਨ ਦੇਖਤ ਸੋਊ ॥
dekhat reejh rahai jih ko rip reejhat so in dekhat soaoo |
ਮਾਨਹੁ ਲਛਮਨ ਰਾਮ ਬਡੇ ਭਟ ਮਾਰਿ ਚਲੇ ਰਿਪੁ ਕੋ ਘਰ ਓਊ ॥੬੫੪॥
maanahu lachhaman raam badde bhatt maar chale rip ko ghar oaoo |654|
Seeing them, the enemies are also charmed and they appeared like Ram and Lakshman returning to their home after killing the enemy.654.
