ਗੁਰਸਿਖੀ ਦਾ ਸਿਖਣਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਿਖ ਸਿਖਣ ਬਜਰੁ ਭਾਰਾ ।

gurasikhee daa sikhanaa gur sikh sikhan bajar bhaaraa |

Learning of the Sikh way of life is as tough as the thunderbolt and only the Sikhs of the Guru learn it.

ਗੁਰਸਿਖੀ ਦਾ ਲਿਖਣਾ ਲੇਖੁ ਅਲੇਖੁ ਨ ਲਿਖਣਹਾਰਾ ।

gurasikhee daa likhanaa lekh alekh na likhanahaaraa |

Writing about the Sikh-life is also beyond all accounts; none can write.

ਗੁਰਸਿਖੀ ਦਾ ਤੋਲਣਾ ਤੁਲਿ ਨ ਤੋਲਿ ਤੁਲੈ ਤੁਲਧਾਰਾ ।

gurasikhee daa tolanaa tul na tol tulai tuladhaaraa |

No scale can weigh the Sikh way of life.

ਗੁਰਸਿਖੀ ਦਾ ਦੇਖਣਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ।

gurasikhee daa dekhanaa guramukh saadhasangat guraduaaraa |

The glimpse of the Sikh life can be had only in the holy congregation and the Gurdvara, the door of the Lord.

ਗੁਰਸਿਖੀ ਦਾ ਚਖਣਾ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਵੀਚਾਰਾ ।

gurasikhee daa chakhanaa saadhasangat gur sabad veechaaraa |

Pondering upon the word of Guru in the holy congregation is like tasting of the Sikh way of life.

ਗੁਰਸਿਖੀ ਦਾ ਸਮਝਣਾ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਜਗਾਵਣਹਾਰਾ ।

gurasikhee daa samajhanaa jotee jot jagaavanahaaraa |

Understanding of the Sikh life is like kindling the flame of the Lord.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸੁਖ ਫਲੁ ਪਿਰਮੁ ਪਿਆਰਾ ।੭।

guramukh sukh fal piram piaaraa |7|

The pleasure-fruit of the Gurmukhs is the love of the dear Lord.
