Siree Raag, Fifth Mehl:
ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਗੀ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਚ ਸਿਉ ਮਰੈ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਇ ॥
preet lagee tis sach siau marai na aavai jaae |
I have fallen in love with the True Lord. He does not die, He does not come and go.
ਨਾ ਵੇਛੋੜਿਆ ਵਿਛੁੜੈ ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਇ ॥
naa vechhorriaa vichhurrai sabh meh rahiaa samaae |
In separation, He is not separated from us; He is pervading and permeating amongst all.
ਦੀਨ ਦਰਦ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਕੈ ਸਤ ਭਾਇ ॥
deen darad dukh bhanjanaa sevak kai sat bhaae |
He is the Destroyer of the pain and suffering of the meek. He bears True Love for His servants.
ਅਚਰਜ ਰੂਪੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੋ ਗੁਰਿ ਮੇਲਾਇਆ ਮਾਇ ॥੧॥
acharaj roop niranjano gur melaaeaa maae |1|
Wondrous is the Form of the Immaculate One. Through the Guru, I have met Him, O my mother! ||1||
ਭਾਈ ਰੇ ਮੀਤੁ ਕਰਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਇ ॥
bhaaee re meet karahu prabh soe |
O Siblings of Destiny, make God your Friend.
ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹ ਪਰੀਤਿ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਸੁਖੀ ਨ ਦੀਸੈ ਕੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
maaeaa moh pareet dhrig sukhee na deesai koe |1| rahaau |
Cursed is emotional attachment and love of Maya; no one is seen to be at peace. ||1||Pause||
ਦਾਨਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਸੀਲਵੰਤੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਰੂਪੁ ਅਪਾਰੁ ॥
daanaa daataa seelavant niramal roop apaar |
God is Wise, Giving, Tender-hearted, Pure, Beautiful and Infinite.
ਸਖਾ ਸਹਾਈ ਅਤਿ ਵਡਾ ਊਚਾ ਵਡਾ ਅਪਾਰੁ ॥
sakhaa sahaaee at vaddaa aoochaa vaddaa apaar |
He is our Companion and Helper, Supremely Great, Lofty and Utterly Infinite.
ਬਾਲਕੁ ਬਿਰਧਿ ਨ ਜਾਣੀਐ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਦਰਵਾਰੁ ॥
baalak biradh na jaaneeai nihachal tis daravaar |
He is not known as young or old; His Court is Steady and Stable.
ਜੋ ਮੰਗੀਐ ਸੋਈ ਪਾਈਐ ਨਿਧਾਰਾ ਆਧਾਰੁ ॥੨॥
jo mangeeai soee paaeeai nidhaaraa aadhaar |2|
Whatever we seek from Him, we receive. He is the Support of the unsupported. ||2||
ਜਿਸੁ ਪੇਖਤ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਹਿਰਹਿ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਸਾਂਤਿ ॥
jis pekhat kilavikh hireh man tan hovai saant |
Seeing Him, our evil inclinations vanish; mind and body become peaceful and tranquil.
ਇਕ ਮਨਿ ਏਕੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਲਾਹਿ ਭਰਾਂਤਿ ॥
eik man ek dhiaaeeai man kee laeh bharaant |
With one-pointed mind, meditate on the One Lord, and the doubts of your mind will be dispelled.
ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਨਵਤਨੁ ਸਦਾ ਪੂਰਨ ਜਾ ਕੀ ਦਾਤਿ ॥
gun nidhaan navatan sadaa pooran jaa kee daat |
He is the Treasure of Excellence, the Ever-fresh Being. His Gift is Perfect and Complete.
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਆਰਾਧੀਐ ਦਿਨੁ ਵਿਸਰਹੁ ਨਹੀ ਰਾਤਿ ॥੩॥
sadaa sadaa aaraadheeai din visarahu nahee raat |3|
Forever and ever, worship and adore Him. Day and night, do not forget Him. ||3||
ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਕਾ ਸਖਾ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ॥
jin kau poorab likhiaa tin kaa sakhaa govind |
One whose destiny is so pre-ordained, obtains the Lord of the Universe as his Companion.
ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਅਰਪੀ ਸਭੋ ਸਗਲ ਵਾਰੀਐ ਇਹ ਜਿੰਦੁ ॥
tan man dhan arapee sabho sagal vaareeai ih jind |
I dedicate my body, mind, wealth and all to Him. I totally sacrifice my soul to Him.
ਦੇਖੈ ਸੁਣੈ ਹਦੂਰਿ ਸਦ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਰਵਿੰਦੁ ॥
dekhai sunai hadoor sad ghatt ghatt braham ravind |
Seeing and hearing, He is always close at hand. In each and every heart, God is pervading.
ਅਕਿਰਤਘਣਾ ਨੋ ਪਾਲਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦ ਬਖਸਿੰਦੁ ॥੪॥੧੩॥੮੩॥
akirataghanaa no paaladaa prabh naanak sad bakhasind |4|13|83|
Even the ungrateful ones are cherished by God. O Nanak, He is forever the Forgiver. ||4||13||83||
