Salok:

ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਰਚਨਾ ਅਪਾਰੰ ਮਨਿ ਬਿਲਾਸ ਸੁਆਦੰ ਰਸਹ ॥

grih rachanaa apaaran man bilaas suaadan rasah |

They are involved in their beautiful houses, and the pleasures of the mind's desires.

ਕਦਾਂਚ ਨਹ ਸਿਮਰੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇ ਜੰਤ ਬਿਸਟਾ ਕ੍ਰਿਮਹ ॥੧॥

kadaanch neh simarant naanak te jant bisattaa krimah |1|

They never remember the Lord in meditation; O Nanak, they are like maggots in manure. ||1||

ਮੁਚੁ ਅਡੰਬਰੁ ਹਭੁ ਕਿਹੁ ਮੰਝਿ ਮੁਹਬਤਿ ਨੇਹ ॥

much addanbar habh kihu manjh muhabat neh |

They are engrossed in ostentatious displays, lovingly attached to all their possessions.

ਸੋ ਸਾਂਈ ਜੈਂ ਵਿਸਰੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋ ਤਨੁ ਖੇਹ ॥੨॥

so saanee jain visarai naanak so tan kheh |2|

That body which forgets the Lord, O Nanak, shall be reduced to ashes. ||2||
