ਚਾਰਿ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਹਥ ਜੋੜਿ ਹੁਕਮੀ ਬੰਦੇ ਰਹਨਿ ਖੜੋਤੇ ।
chaar padaarath hath jorr hukamee bande rehan kharrote |
The four ideals (dharma, arth, ktim, moks) stand w'th folded hands around the obedient servant (of the Lord).
ਚਾਰੇ ਚਕ ਨਿਵਾਇਆ ਪੈਰੀ ਪੈ ਇਕ ਸੂਤਿ ਪਰੋਤੇ ।
chaare chak nivaaeaa pairee pai ik soot parote |
This servant has made the four directions bow to him by bowing to One who has strung one and all into one thread.
ਵੇਦ ਨ ਪਾਇਨਿ ਭੇਦੁ ਕਿਹੁ ਪੜਿ ਪੜਿ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਸੁਣਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਸ੍ਰੋਤੇ ।
ved na paaein bhed kihu parr parr panddit sun sun srote |
The Vedas, the reciter pandits of the Vedas and their audience cannot understand His mystery.
ਚਹੁ ਜੁਗਿ ਅੰਦਰ ਜਾਗਦੀ ਓਤਿ ਪੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਜਗਮਗ ਜੋਤੇ ।
chahu jug andar jaagadee ot pot mil jagamag jote |
His ever radiant flame glows in all the four yugso ages.
ਚਾਰਿ ਵਰਨ ਇਕ ਵਰਨ ਹੋਇ ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਵੜੀਅਨਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਗੋਤੇ ।
chaar varan ik varan hoe gurasikh varreean guramukh gote |
The Sikhs of all the four vamas became one varna and they have entered the (larger) clan of Gurmukhs.
ਧਰਮਸਾਲ ਵਿਚਿ ਬੀਜਦੇ ਕਰਿ ਗੁਰਪੁਰਬ ਸੁ ਵਣਜ ਸਓਤੇ ।
dharamasaal vich beejade kar gurapurab su vanaj sote |
They at the abodes of dharma (Gurdvaras) celebrate anniversaries of the Gurus and thus sow the seeds of virtuous actions.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਦਾਦੇ ਪੋਤੇ ।੫।
