Gauree 9:

ਜੋਨਿ ਛਾਡਿ ਜਉ ਜਗ ਮਹਿ ਆਇਓ ॥

jon chhaadd jau jag meh aaeo |

He leaves the womb, and comes into the world;

ਲਾਗਤ ਪਵਨ ਖਸਮੁ ਬਿਸਰਾਇਓ ॥੧॥

laagat pavan khasam bisaraaeo |1|

as soon as the air touches him, he forgets his Lord and Master. ||1||

ਜੀਅਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਨਾ ਗਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

jeearaa har ke gunaa gaau |1| rahaau |

O my soul, sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||1||Pause||

ਗਰਭ ਜੋਨਿ ਮਹਿ ਉਰਧ ਤਪੁ ਕਰਤਾ ॥

garabh jon meh uradh tap karataa |

You were upside-down, living in the womb; you generated the intense meditative heat of 'tapas'.

ਤਉ ਜਠਰ ਅਗਨਿ ਮਹਿ ਰਹਤਾ ॥੨॥

tau jatthar agan meh rahataa |2|

Then, you escaped the fire of the belly. ||2||

ਲਖ ਚਉਰਾਸੀਹ ਜੋਨਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਆਇਓ ॥

lakh chauraaseeh jon bhram aaeo |

After wandering through 8.4 million incarnations, you came.

ਅਬ ਕੇ ਛੁਟਕੇ ਠਉਰ ਨ ਠਾਇਓ ॥੩॥

ab ke chhuttake tthaur na tthaaeo |3|

If you stumble and fall now, you shall find no home or place of rest. ||3||

ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਭਜੁ ਸਾਰਿਗਪਾਨੀ ॥

kahu kabeer bhaj saarigapaanee |

Says Kabeer, meditate, vibrate upon the Lord, the Sustainer of the earth.

ਆਵਤ ਦੀਸੈ ਜਾਤ ਨ ਜਾਨੀ ॥੪॥੧॥੧੧॥੬੨॥

aavat deesai jaat na jaanee |4|1|11|62|

He is not seen to be coming or going; He is the Knower of all. ||4||1||11||62||
