ਕਟਿ ਕਟਿ ਮਰੇ ਨਰੇਸ ਦੁਖੰਡਾ ॥

katt katt mare nares dukhanddaa |

ਬਾਇ ਹਨੇ ਗਿਰਿ ਗੇ ਜਨੁ ਝੰਡਾ ॥

baae hane gir ge jan jhanddaa |

The kings, chopped into bits, were lying the cluster of trees fallen down by the blow of wind.

ਸੂਲ ਸੰਭਾਰਿ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਜਬ ਪਰਿਯੋ ॥

sool sanbhaar rudr jab pariyo |

ਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਅਯੋਧਨ ਕਰਿਯੋ ॥੨੬॥

chitr bachitr ayodhan kariyo |26|

When Rudra, holding his trident wrought the destruction, then the scence of that place looked very queer.26.

ਭਾਜ ਭਾਜ ਤਬ ਚਲੇ ਨਰੇਸਾ ॥

bhaaj bhaaj tab chale naresaa |

ਜਗ ਬਿਸਾਰ ਸੰਭਾਰਿਯੋ ਦੇਸਾ ॥

jag bisaar sanbhaariyo desaa |

Then the kings, forgetting the Yajna, began to run away to their countries.

ਜਬ ਰਣ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਹੁਐ ਧਾਏ ॥

jab ran rudr rudr huai dhaae |

ਭਾਜਤ ਭੂਪ ਨ ਬਾਚਨ ਪਾਏ ॥੨੭॥

bhaajat bhoop na baachan paae |27|

When Rudra pursued them as fury-incarnate, then none of the running kings could survive.27.

ਤਬ ਸਬ ਭਰੇ ਤੇਜ ਤਨੁ ਰਾਜਾ ॥

tab sab bhare tej tan raajaa |

ਬਾਜਨ ਲਗੇ ਅਨੰਤਨ ਬਾਜਾ ॥

baajan lage anantan baajaa |

Then all the kings, becoming alert, were highly activated and the musical instruments resounded from all the sides.

ਮਚਿਯੋ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਘੋਰਿ ਸੰਗ੍ਰਾਮਾ ॥

machiyo bahur ghor sangraamaa |

ਜਮ ਕੋ ਭਰਾ ਛਿਨਕ ਮਹਿ ਧਾਮਾ ॥੨੮॥

jam ko bharaa chhinak meh dhaamaa |28|

Then the war become more intense and the house of Yama began to be filled with the dead.28.

ਭੂਪਤ ਫਿਰੇ ਜੁਧ ਕੇ ਕਾਰਨ ॥

bhoopat fire judh ke kaaran |

ਲੈ ਲੈ ਬਾਣਿ ਪਾਣਿ ਹਥੀਯਾਰਨ ॥

lai lai baan paan hatheeyaaran |

The kings returned with several kinds of arrows and weapons for waging the war.

ਧਾਇ ਧਾਇ ਅਰਿ ਕਰਤ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰਾ ॥

dhaae dhaae ar karat prahaaraa |

ਜਨ ਕਰ ਚੋਟ ਪਰਤ ਘਰੀਯਾਰਾ ॥੨੯॥

jan kar chott parat ghareeyaaraa |29|

They began to strike blows speedily like the strokes on the gong.29.

ਖੰਡ ਖੰਡ ਰਣਿ ਗਿਰੇ ਅਖੰਡਾ ॥

khandd khandd ran gire akhanddaa |

ਕਾਪਿਯੋ ਖੰਡ ਨਵੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡਾ ॥

kaapiyo khandd nave brahamanddaa |

The mighty warriors began to fall as bits and the nine regions of the world trembled.

ਛਾਡਿ ਛਾਡਿ ਅਸਿ ਗਿਰੇ ਨਰੇਸਾ ॥

chhaadd chhaadd as gire naresaa |

ਮਚਿਯੋ ਜੁਧੁ ਸੁਯੰਬਰ ਜੈਸਾ ॥੩੦॥

machiyo judh suyanbar jaisaa |30|

Forsaking their swords, the kings began to fall down and there was dreadful scene in the battlefield.30.
