ਕਾਹੇ ਕਉ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਸੋ ਜੁਧੁ ਕਰੋ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਹੁ ਭਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਕੋ ਇਕੁ ਜੀਜੈ ॥
kaahe kau krodh so judh karo har jaahu bhale din ko ik jeejai |
“Why are you waging war in anger, O Krishna! come and live comfortably for a few days more
ਬੈਸ ਕਿਸੋਰ ਮਨੋਹਰਿ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਆਨਨ ਮੈ ਅਬ ਹੀ ਮਸ ਭੀਜੈ ॥
bais kisor manohar moorat aanan mai ab hee mas bheejai |
You are still young will a beautiful face, you are still in early youth
ਜਾਈਐ ਧਾਮਿ ਸੁਨੋ ਘਨਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਬਿਸ੍ਰਾਮ ਕਰੋ ਸੁਖ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਪੀਜੈ ॥
jaaeeai dhaam suno ghan sayaam bisraam karo sukh amrit peejai |
“O Krishna! go to your home, take rest and live in peace
ਨਾਹਕ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਤਜੋ ਰਨ ਮੈ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਪਿਤ ਮਾਤ ਅਨਾਥ ਨ ਕੀਜੈ ॥੧੪੪੭॥
naahak praan tajo ran mai apune pit maat anaath na keejai |1447|
Do not deprive your parents of your support by losing your life in the war.1447.
ਕਾਹੇ ਕਉ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਅਯੋਧਨ ਮੈ ਹਠ ਕੈ ਹਮ ਸੋ ਰਨ ਦੁੰਦ ਮਚੈ ਹੋ ॥
kaahe kau kaanrah ayodhan mai hatth kai ham so ran dund machai ho |
“Why are you waging war with me with persistence? O Krishna! uselessly
ਜੁਧ ਕੀ ਬਾਤ ਬੁਰੀ ਸਬ ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਕ੍ਰੁਧ ਕੀਏ ਨ ਕਛੂ ਫਲੁ ਪੈ ਹੋ ॥
judh kee baat buree sab te har krudh kee na kachhoo fal pai ho |
The war is a very bad thing and you will not gain anything by getting enraged
ਜਾਨਤ ਹੋ ਅਬ ਯਾ ਰਨ ਮੈ ਹਮ ਸੋ ਲਰਿ ਕੈ ਤੁਮ ਜੀਤ ਨ ਜੈਹੋ ॥
jaanat ho ab yaa ran mai ham so lar kai tum jeet na jaiho |
“You know that you cannot win this war over me, therefore run away instantly,
ਜਾਹੁ ਤੋ ਭਾਜ ਕੈ ਜਾਹੁ ਅਬੈ ਨਹੀ ਅੰਤ ਕੋ ਅੰਤ ਕੇ ਧਾਮਿ ਸਿਧੈ ਹੋ ॥੧੪੪੮॥
jaahu to bhaaj kai jaahu abai nahee ant ko ant ke dhaam sidhai ho |1448|
Otherwise ultimately you will have to go to the abode of Yama.”1448.
ਯੌ ਸੁਨਿ ਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਚਾਪ ਲਯੋ ਕਰਿ ਤਾਨ ਕੈ ਬਾਨ ਕਉ ਖੈਚ ਚਲਾਯੋ ॥
yau sun kai har chaap layo kar taan kai baan kau khaich chalaayo |
Hearing these words, Krishna took his bow in hi hand and pulling it, he discharged an arrow
ਭੂਪਤਿ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਘਾਇਲ ਕੀਨੋ ਹੈ ਸ੍ਰੀਪਤ ਕਉ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਘਾਇ ਲਗਾਯੋ ॥
bhoopat kau har ghaaeil keeno hai sreepat kau nrip ghaae lagaayo |
Krishna inflicted a wound on the king and the king on Krishna
ਬੀਰ ਦੁਹੂੰ ਤਿਹ ਠਉਰ ਬਿਖੈ ਕਬਿ ਰਾਮ ਭਨੈ ਅਤਿ ਜੁਧੁ ਮਚਾਯੋ ॥
beer duhoon tih tthaur bikhai kab raam bhanai at judh machaayo |
The warriors or both the sides waged a dreadful war
ਬਾਨ ਅਪਾਰ ਚਲੇ ਦੁਹੂੰ ਓਰ ਤੇ ਅਭ੍ਰਨ ਜਿਉ ਦਿਵ ਮੰਡਲ ਛਾਯੋ ॥੧੪੪੯॥
baan apaar chale duhoon or te abhran jiau div manddal chhaayo |1449|
There was an enormous shower of arrows from both sides and it appeared that the clouds have spread over the sky.1449.
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਜਦੁਬੀਰ ਸਹਾਇ ਕੇ ਕਾਜ ਜਿਨੋ ਬਰ ਬੀਰਨ ਤੀਰ ਚਲਾਏ ॥
sree jadubeer sahaae ke kaaj jino bar beeran teer chalaae |
ਭੂਪਤਿ ਏਕ ਨ ਬਾਨ ਲਗਿਯੋ ਲਖਿ ਦੂਰਿ ਤੇ ਬਾਨਨ ਸੋ ਬਹੁ ਘਾਏ ॥
bhoopat ek na baan lagiyo lakh door te baanan so bahu ghaae |
The arrows discharged by the other warriors for the help of Krishna, none of them hit the king, buyt they were them selves killed by the distant arrows
ਧਾਇ ਪਰੀ ਬਹੁ ਜਾਦਵ ਸੈਨ ਧਵਾਇ ਕੈ ਸ︀ਯੰਦਨ ਚਾਪ ਚਢਾਏ ॥
dhaae paree bahu jaadav sain dhavaae kai sayandan chaap chadtaae |
The Yadava army, mounting on the chariots and pulling the bows, fell upon the kng
ਆਵਤ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਭਨੈ ਰਿਸ ਕੈ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਸੋ ਪਲ ਮੈ ਦਲ ਪੈਦਲ ਘਾਏ ॥੧੪੫੦॥
aavat sayaam bhanai ris kai nrip so pal mai dal paidal ghaae |1450|
According to the poet they came in anger, but the king destroys the clusters of the army in an instant.1450.
ਏਕ ਗਿਰੇ ਤਜਿ ਪ੍ਰਾਨਨ ਕੋ ਰਨ ਕੀ ਛਿਤ ਮੈ ਅਤਿ ਜੁਧੁ ਮਚੈ ਕੈ ॥
ek gire taj praanan ko ran kee chhit mai at judh machai kai |
Some of them became lifeless and fell in the battlefield and some of them fled away
ਏਕ ਗਏ ਭਜਿ ਕੈ ਇਕ ਘਾਇਲ ਏਕ ਲਰੇ ਮਨਿ ਕੋਪੁ ਬਢੈ ਕੈ ॥
ek ge bhaj kai ik ghaaeil ek lare man kop badtai kai |
Some of them were wounded and some of the m kept fighting in anger
ਤਉ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਲੈ ਕਰ ਮੈ ਕਰਵਾਰ ਦੀਯੋ ਬਹੁ ਖੰਡਨ ਖੰਡਨ ਕੈ ਕੈ ॥
tau nrip lai kar mai karavaar deeyo bahu khanddan khanddan kai kai |
The king taking the sword in his hand, chopped the soldiers into bits
ਭੂਪ ਕੋ ਪਉਰਖ ਹੈ ਮਹਬੂਬ ਨਿਹਾਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਬ ਆਸਿਕ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਕੈ ॥੧੪੫੧॥
bhoop ko paurakh hai mahaboob nihaar rahe sab aasik hvai kai |1451|
It appeared that the audacity of the king was like beloved and all of them seeing him as lovers.1451.
ਅਉਰ ਕਿਤੇ ਬਲਬੰਡ ਹੁਤੇ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਜਿਤੇ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਕੋਪਿ ਪਛਾਰੇ ॥
aaur kite balabandd hute kab sayaam jite nrip kop pachhaare |
The king in fury knocked down many mighty warriors
ਜੁਧ ਪ੍ਰਬੀਨ ਸੁ ਬੀਰ ਬਡੇ ਰਿਸਿ ਸਾਥ ਸੋਊ ਛਿਨ ਮਾਹਿ ਸੰਘਾਰੇ ॥
judh prabeen su beer badde ris saath soaoo chhin maeh sanghaare |
Getting enraged he killed the great heroes in an instant
ਸ︀ਯੰਦਨ ਕਾਟਿ ਦਏ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਗਜ ਬਾਜ ਘਨੇ ਸੰਗਿ ਬਾਨਨ ਮਾਰੇ ॥
sayandan kaatt de tin ke gaj baaj ghane sang baanan maare |
He shattered their chariots and killed many elephants and horses with his arrows
ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਕੋ ਖੇਲੁ ਕੀਯੋ ਰਨ ਮੈ ਜੇਊ ਜੀਵਤ ਤੇ ਤਜਿ ਜੁਧੁ ਪਧਾਰੇ ॥੧੪੫੨॥
rudr ko khel keeyo ran mai jeaoo jeevat te taj judh padhaare |1452|
The king danced in the battlefield like Rudra and those who survived, fled away.1452.
ਸੈਨ ਭਜਾਇ ਕੈ ਧਾਇ ਕੈ ਆਇ ਕੈ ਰਾਮ ਅਉ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕੇ ਸਾਥ ਅਰਿਓ ਹੈ ॥
sain bhajaae kai dhaae kai aae kai raam aau sayaam ke saath ario hai |
ਲੈ ਬਰਛਾ ਜਮਧਾਰ ਗਦਾ ਅਸਿ ਕ੍ਰੁਧ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਜੁਧ ਨਿਸੰਗ ਕਰਿਓ ਹੈ ॥
lai barachhaa jamadhaar gadaa as krudh hvai judh nisang kario hai |
Getting the army run away and running himself again, the king came to fight with Balram and Krishna and he waged the war fearlessly, taking the lance, axe, mace, sword etc. in his hands
ਤਉ ਬਹੁਰੋ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਭਨੈ ਧਨੁ ਬਾਨ ਸੰਭਾਰ ਕੈ ਪਾਨਿ ਧਰਿਓ ਹੈ ॥
tau bahuro kab sayaam bhanai dhan baan sanbhaar kai paan dhario hai |
ਜਿਉ ਘਨ ਬੂੰਦਨ ਤਿਉ ਸਰ ਸਿਉ ਕਮਲਾਪਤਿ ਕੋ ਤਨ ਤਾਲ ਭਰਿਓ ਹੈ ॥੧੪੫੩॥
jiau ghan boondan tiau sar siau kamalaapat ko tan taal bhario hai |1453|
After this he took bow and arrows in his hands and like the drops of rain from the clouds, he filled the tank of the body of Krishna with the arrows.1453.
