ਤਾ ਤੇ ਆਗੇ ਕੀਜਿਯੈ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਕੋ ਤੁਰਤ ਉਪਾਇ ॥

taa te aage keejiyai nrip ko turat upaae |

She thought, ‘I must do something to save the Raja. I must serve

ਜਿਯ ਤੇ ਜਿਯਤ ਨਿਕਾਰਿਯੈ ਭੋਜਨ ਭਲੋ ਖਵਾਇ ॥੯॥

jiy te jiyat nikaariyai bhojan bhalo khavaae |9|

Dainty food to my husband and send him away.’(9)

ਇਕ ਸਫ ਬੀਚ ਲਪੇਟਿ ਤਿਹ ਧਰਿਯੋ ਭੀਤ ਸੋ ਲਾਇ ॥

eik saf beech lapett tih dhariyo bheet so laae |

She wrapped round the Raja in a hessian sack and made it stand near the wall.

ਜਾਇ ਸਾਹ ਆਗੇ ਲਿਯੌ ਭੋਜਨ ਭਲੋ ਮੰਗਾਇ ॥੧੦॥

jaae saah aage liyau bhojan bhalo mangaae |10|

She received her trader husband with great pleasure and cooked lavish food for him.(10)
