ਸਾਹੁ ਬਧੂ ਚੋਰਨ ਹਨੀ ਸੈਯਦ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਕੌ ਘਾਇ ॥

saahu badhoo choran hanee saiyad nrip kau ghaae |

ਤਵਨ ਲੌਡਿਯਹਿ ਲੈ ਗਯੋ ਅਪਨੇ ਸਦਨ ਬਨਾਇ ॥੧੦॥

tavan lauaddiyeh lai gayo apane sadan banaae |10|

ਤ੍ਰਿਯਹਿ ਨ ਅੰਤਰ ਦੀਜਿਯੈ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਲੀਜੈ ਭੇਦ ॥

triyeh na antar deejiyai taa ko leejai bhed |

The thieves had been made to kill the trader’s wife, and, after killing

ਬਹੁ ਪੁਰਖਨ ਕੇ ਕਰਤ ਹੈ ਹ੍ਰਿਦੈ ਚੰਚਲਾ ਛੇਦ ॥੧੧॥

bahu purakhan ke karat hai hridai chanchalaa chhed |11|

The Raja, the Sayeed took the maid (Chitarkala) to his abode.(11)

ਚਿਤ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਕੋ ਹਰਿ ਲੀਜਿਯੈ ਤਾਹਿ ਨ ਦੀਜੈ ਚਿਤ ॥

chit triy ko har leejiyai taeh na deejai chit |

The woman’s heart may be captured but never let her steal your heart.

ਨਿਤਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਤਾਹਿ ਰਿਝਾਇਯੈ ਦੈ ਦੈ ਅਗਨਿਤ ਬਿਤ ॥੧੨॥

nitaprat taeh rijhaaeiyai dai dai aganit bit |12|

Providing her myriads of victuals, just keep her satisfied.(12)

ਗੰਧ੍ਰਬ ਜਛ ਭੁਜੰਗ ਗਨ ਨਰ ਬਪੁਰੇ ਕਿਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥

gandhrab jachh bhujang gan nar bapure kin maeh |

The gods, such as Gandharabh, Jachh, Bhujang, Dev, Devil, none could fathom the Chritars of the women,

ਦੇਵ ਅਦੇਵ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾਨ ਕੇ ਭੇਵ ਪਛਾਨਤ ਨਾਹਿ ॥੧੩॥

dev adev triyaan ke bhev pachhaanat naeh |13|

Then what the poor human creatures could achieve.(13)(l)
