ਸਾਹੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਕੀ ਖਾਟ ਪਰ ਇਕ ਦਿਨ ਤਾਹਿ ਸਵਾਇ ॥

saahu triyaa kee khaatt par ik din taeh savaae |

ਸਾਹੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਸੋ ਅਗਮਨੈ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਬਚਨ ਸੌ ਜਾਇ ॥੩॥

saahu triyaa so agamanai kahiyo bachan sau jaae |3|

Before she put Sayeed in the bed belonging to the trader’s wife, the maid had gone to the trader’s wife and told,

ਤਵਨੈ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਤੁਅ ਹਿਤ ਪਰਿਯੋ ਬੇਗਿ ਬੁਲਾਵਤ ਤੋਹਿ ॥

tavanai nrip tua hit pariyo beg bulaavat tohi |

ਚਲੋ ਅਬੈ ਉਠਿ ਤੁਮ ਤਹਾ ਬਾਤ ਸ੍ਰਵਨ ਧਰਿ ਮੋਹਿ ॥੪॥

chalo abai utth tum tahaa baat sravan dhar mohi |4|

‘The Raja, imbued in your love, is waiting. Please go quick to the house where fire is visible.’(3)

ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਠਾਢੋ ਹੇਰੈ ਤੁਮੈ ਤੁਮਰੇ ਅਤਿ ਹਿਤ ਪਾਗਿ ॥

nrip tthaadto herai tumai tumare at hit paag |

ਬੇਗਿ ਚਲੋ ਉਠਿ ਤਹਾ ਤੁਮ ਜਹਾ ਬਰਤੁ ਹੈ ਆਗਿ ॥੫॥

beg chalo utth tahaa tum jahaa barat hai aag |5|

Making sure, the maid, then, ran and approached the Raja, led him to

ਸੁਨਤ ਬਚਨ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਤਹ ਚਲੀ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਸੋ ਧਾਇ ॥

sunat bachan triy teh chalee kahiyo nripat so dhaae |

The place where the Sayeed was lying down and said, ‘Here, your

ਸੋਇ ਯਾਰ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਰਹੀ ਗਹੋ ਚਰਨ ਦੋਊ ਜਾਇ ॥੬॥

soe yaar tumaree rahee gaho charan doaoo jaae |6|

Beloved is lying down. Go and hold her by her feet.’(6)

ਆਪੁ ਅਗਮਨੇ ਦੌਰਿ ਕੈ ਸੈਯਦਹਿ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਸੁਨਾਇ ॥

aap agamane dauar kai saiyadeh kahiyo sunaae |

Previously she (the maid) had already warned the Sayeed and told him

ਗਹਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਜਾਗਤ ਰਹੋ ਜਿਨਿ ਨ ਗਹੈ ਕੋਊ ਆਇ ॥੭॥

geh kripaan jaagat raho jin na gahai koaoo aae |7|

To remain alert, with a sword beside him, in case some one walked in.(7)

ਚੋਰ ਜਰਾਵਤ ਆਗਿ ਜਹ ਤਹ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਪਹੁਚੀ ਜਾਇ ॥

chor jaraavat aag jeh teh triy pahuchee jaae |

On the other side, the place where thieves were sitting with fire on, the trader’s wife came.

ਲੂਟਿ ਕੂਟਿ ਤਾ ਕੌ ਦਿਯੋ ਗਹਿਰੇ ਗੜੇ ਦਬਾਇ ॥੮॥

loott koott taa kau diyo gahire garre dabaae |8|

They (the thieves) plundered and killed her and buried her body in a ditch.(8)
