ਨਿਸ ਦਿਨ ਬਾਸ ਤਹਾ ਕਰੈ ਮੁਗਲਨ ਅਨਤੈ ਜਾਇ ॥

nis din baas tahaa karai mugalan anatai jaae |

(Her husband) used to go into the company of another Mughal.

ਔਰ ਇਸਤ੍ਰਿਯਨ ਸੋ ਭਜੈ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਤੋ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਸੰਕਾਇ ॥੪॥

aauar isatriyan so bhajai triy to kachhoo na sankaae |4|

Without putting his wife in doubt, he used to indulge in making love with other women.(4)

ਹੇਰ ਮੁਗਲ ਅਨਤੈ ਰਮਤ ਤਰੁਨਿ ਧਾਰ ਰਿਸਿ ਚਿਤ ॥

her mugal anatai ramat tarun dhaar ris chit |

When she learnt about him, flirting with other women, she called the

ਕੀਨਾ ਏਕ ਬੁਲਾਇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਬਾਲ ਬਨਿਕ ਕੋ ਮਿਤ ॥੫॥

keenaa ek bulaae grih baal banik ko mit |5|

Son of a Shah and created friendship with him.(5)

ਏਕ ਦਿਵਸ ਤਾ ਸੌ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਭੇਦ ਸਕਲ ਸਮਝਾਇ ॥

ek divas taa sau kahiyo bhed sakal samajhaae |

One day she disclosed all the secrets to him and, being scared of her

ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਧਾਮ ਤਿਹ ਰਾਖਿਯੋ ਨਿਜੁ ਪਤਿ ਤੇ ਡਰ ਪਾਇ ॥੬॥

putr dhaam tih raakhiyo nij pat te ddar paae |6|

Husband, put him up in her own house.(6)

ਪਿਯ ਸੋਵਤ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਜਾਗਿ ਕੈ ਪਤਿ ਕੌ ਦਿਯੋ ਜਗਾਇ ॥

piy sovat triy jaag kai pat kau diyo jagaae |

Although husband was in slumber, she was still awake.

ਲੈ ਆਗ︀ਯਾ ਸੁਤ ਬਨਕ ਕੇ ਸੰਗ ਬਿਹਾਰੀ ਜਾਇ ॥੭॥

lai aagayaa sut banak ke sang bihaaree jaae |7|

She woke him up and with his permission went out, to have illicit relation with the son of the Shah.(7)

ਪਿਯ ਸੋਵਤ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਜੋ ਜਗੈ ਕਹੈ ਦੁਸਟ ਕੋਊ ਆਇ ॥

piy sovat triy jo jagai kahai dusatt koaoo aae |

If a wife, still awake and lying down with her sleeping husband, says that an intruder has come

ਤੁਰਤੁ ਦੋਸਤੀ ਪਤਿ ਤਜੈ ਨਾਤ ਨੇਹ ਛੁਟਿ ਜਾਇ ॥੮॥

turat dosatee pat tajai naat neh chhutt jaae |8|

Even if the intruder is a friend, all relationship with him should be severed.(8)
