ਮੂੰਡ ਬਿਨਾ ਨਿਜੁ ਮੀਤ ਨਿਹਾਰਿਯੋ ॥

When she saw her friend without head, she became furious.
ਦਸੋ ਦਿਸਨ ਕਾਢੇ ਅਸਿ ਧਾਵੈ ॥
daso disan kaadte as dhaavai |

ਬੀਤਾ ਬਰਖ ਏਕ ਦਿਨ ਜਾਨ︀ਯੋ ॥

A. year lapsed like this, and after one year, one day came,
ਤਬ ਡੋਗਰ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਉਚਾਰੋ ॥
tab ddogar ih bhaat uchaaro |
ਕਰੋ ਨਾਰਿ ਇਕਿ ਕਾਜ ਹਮਾਰੋ ॥੧੦॥

ਏਕ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਕਾਰਜ ਮੁਰ ਕੀਜਹੁ ॥

ਮਖਨੀ ਕਾਢਿ ਧਾਮ ਤੇ ਦੀਜਹੁ ॥
makhanee kaadt dhaam te deejahu |
‘Please lady do me an errand and get me milk-butter from home.’
ਜਾਤ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਤਹ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਮੈ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
jaat kahiyo teh triy mai naahee |
ਹੇਰਿ ਅੰਧੇਰ ਡਰੋ ਮਨ ਮਾਹੀ ॥੧੧॥

Woman said, ‘I will not go because in the dark I get scared.’(11)
ਡੋਗਰ ਕਹਾ ਲਗਤ ਦੁਖੁ ਮੋ ਕੋ ॥
ddogar kahaa lagat dukh mo ko |
ਭੂਲਿ ਗਯੋ ਵਹ ਦਿਨ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਤੋ ਕੋ ॥
bhool gayo veh din triy to ko |
Dogar said, ‘I am very much distressed, remember that day,
ਨਦੀ ਪੈਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਪਾਰ ਪਰਾਈ ॥
nadee pair kar paar paraaee |
ਜਾਰ ਬਹਾਇ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਘਰ ਆਈ ॥੧੨॥

ਚਮਕਿ ਉਠੀ ਜਬ ਬਚਨ ਉਚਾਰੇ ॥
chamak utthee jab bachan uchaare |

ਮੋਰ ਭੇਦ ਇਨ ਸਕਲ ਨਿਹਾਰੇ ॥
mor bhed in sakal nihaare |
Hearing this she was perturbed that he knew all her secret.
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਅਬ ਹੀ ਯਾਰਿ ਸੰਘਾਰੋ ॥
taa te ab hee yaar sanghaaro |
ਮਾਰਿ ਚੋਰ ਇਹ ਗਏ ਉਚਾਰੋ ॥੧੩॥

‘Then why not kill him now and declare that some thief had murdered him.’(13)
