ਚਲੀ ਖਬਰ ਰਾਨੀ ਪਹਿ ਆਈ ॥

chalee khabar raanee peh aaee |

ਬੈਠੀ ਕਹਾ ਕਾਲ ਕੀ ਖਾਈ ॥

baitthee kahaa kaal kee khaaee |

ਤੁਮਰੋ ਮੀਤ ਚੋਰ ਕਰਿ ਗਹਿਯੋ ॥

ਕੇਸ ਪੇਸ ਸੋ ਜੂਟ ਉਪਾਰਿਯੋ ॥

kes pes so joott upaariyo |

jaa din piy payaare bichhuraahee |

ਤਾ ਸਮ ਦੁਖ ਜਗ ਦੂਸਰ ਨਾਹੀ ॥੧੧॥

taa sam dukh jag doosar naahee |11|

The day when one’s companion is taken away, that day becomes most agonizing.( 11)
