ਚਾਰਿ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਆਖੀਅਨਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਦੇਇ ਨ ਗੁਰਸਿਖੁ ਮੰਗੈ ।

chaar padaarath aakheean satigur dee na gurasikh mangai |

The true Guru himself bestows the four ideals; the Sikh of the Guru does a ask for them.

ਅਠ ਸਿਧਿ ਨਿਧੀ ਨਵੈ ਰਿਧਿ ਨ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਿਖੁ ਢਾਕੈ ਟੰਗੈ ।

atth sidh nidhee navai ridh na gur sikh dtaakai ttangai |

The gurmukh never carries on his back the nine treasures and eight miraculous powers.

ਕਾਮਧੇਣੁ ਲਖ ਲਖਮੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਨ ਹੰਘੈ ਢੰਗਿ ਸੁਢੰਗੈ ।

kaamadhen lakh lakhamee pahunch na hanghai dtang sudtangai |

Wish fulfilling cow and millions of Laksamis, 'With their fine gestures cannot reach a gursikh — Sikh of the Guru.

ਲਖ ਪਾਰਸ ਲਖ ਪਾਰਿਜਾਤ ਹਥਿ ਨ ਛੁਹਦਾ ਫਲ ਨ ਅਭੰਗੈ ।

lakh paaras lakh paarijaat hath na chhuhadaa fal na abhangai |

The Sikh of the Guru never touches the philosopher's stone or transitory fruits millions of wishfulfilling trees.

ਤੰਤ ਮੰਤ ਪਾਖੰਡ ਲਖ ਬਾਜੀਗਰ ਬਾਜਾਰੀ ਨੰਗੈ ।

tant mant paakhandd lakh baajeegar baajaaree nangai |

Millions of tantrists knowing mantras and tantras are mere naked acrobats for a Sikh of the Guru.

ਪੀਰ ਮੁਰੀਦੀ ਗਾਖੜੀ ਇਕਸ ਅੰਗਿ ਨ ਅੰਗਣਿ ਅੰਗੈ ।

peer mureedee gaakharree ikas ang na angan angai |

The Guru­ disciple relationship is very complex because many are its laws and byelaws.

ਗੁਰਸਿਖੁ ਦੂਜੇ ਭਾਵਹੁ ਸੰਗੈ ।੨।
