ਦੁਹਾਂ ਕੰਧਾਰਾਂ ਮੁਹਿ ਜੁੜੇ ਨਾਲਿ ਧਉਸਾ ਭਾਰੀ ॥

duhaan kandhaaraan muhi jurre naal dhausaa bhaaree |

Both the armies are facing each other alongwith the resounding big trumpet.

ਕੜਕ ਉਠਿਆ ਫਉਜ ਤੇ ਵਡਾ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੀ ॥

karrak utthiaa fauj te vaddaa ahankaaree |

The highly egoist warrior of the army thundered.

ਲੈ ਕੈ ਚਲਿਆ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਨਾਲਿ ਵਡੇ ਹਜਾਰੀ ॥

lai kai chaliaa soorame naal vadde hajaaree |

He is moving towards the war-arena with thousands of mighty warriors.

ਮਿਆਨੋ ਖੰਡਾ ਧੂਹਿਆ ਮਹਖਾਸੁਰ ਭਾਰੀ ॥

miaano khanddaa dhoohiaa mahakhaasur bhaaree |

Mahishasura pulled out his huge double-edged sword from his scabbard.

ਉਮਲ ਲਥੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਮਾਰ ਮਚੀ ਕਰਾਰੀ ॥

aumal lathe soorame maar machee karaaree |
