ਨਿਰਖਿ ਰਾਇ ਸੌ ਬਸਿ ਭਈ ਤਿਸ ਬਸਿ ਹੋਤ ਨ ਸੋਇ ॥

nirakh raae sau bas bhee tis bas hot na soe |

She fell in love with that Raja but the Raja did not get into her trap.

ਤਿਨ ਚਿਤ ਮੈ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਕਰੀ ਕਿਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਮਿਲਬੌ ਹੋਇ ॥੩॥

tin chit mai chintaa karee kih bidh milabau hoe |3|

She commenced on her designs how to meet him.(3)

ਯਹ ਮੋ ਪਰ ਰੀਝਤ ਨਹੀ ਕਹੁ ਕਸ ਕਰੋ ਉਪਾਇ ॥

yeh mo par reejhat nahee kahu kas karo upaae |

‘He is not falling in love with me, what should I do.

ਮੋਰੇ ਸਦਨ ਨ ਆਵਈ ਮੁਹਿ ਨਹਿ ਲੇਤ ਬੁਲਾਇ ॥੪॥

more sadan na aavee muhi neh let bulaae |4|

‘Neither he comes to my house, nor calls me over.(4)

ਤੁਰਤੁ ਤਵਨ ਕੋ ਕੀਜਿਯੈ ਕਿਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਮਿਲਨ ਉਪਾਇ ॥

turat tavan ko keejiyai kih bidh milan upaae |

‘I must contrive quickly,’ thinking thus she indulged in the magical

ਜੰਤ੍ਰ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਚੇਟਕ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਕੀਏ ਜੁ ਬਸਿ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਜਾਇ ॥੫॥

ਜੰਤ੍ਰ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਰਹੀ ਹਾਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਰਾਇ ਮਿਲ︀ਯੋ ਨਹਿ ਆਇ ॥

jantr mantr rahee haar kar raae milayo neh aae |

She was exhausted performing the charms but the Raja never turned up.

ਏਕ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਤਬ ਤਿਨ ਕਿਯੋ ਬਸਿ ਕਰਬੇ ਕੇ ਭਾਇ ॥੬॥

ek charitr tab tin kiyo bas karabe ke bhaae |6|

Then, to tempt the Raja she devised a scheme.(6)

ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਸਭੈ ਭਗਵੇ ਕਰੇ ਧਰਿ ਜੁਗਿਯਾ ਕੋ ਭੇਸ ॥

basatr sabhai bhagave kare dhar jugiyaa ko bhes |

She put on the saffron coloured attire, disguising herself as a Jogan,

ਸਭਾ ਮਧ︀ਯ ਤਿਹ ਰਾਇ ਕੌ ਕੀਨੋ ਆਨਿ ਅਦੇਸ ॥੭॥

sabhaa madhay tih raae kau keeno aan ades |7|

The ascetic, entered the Royal Court and paid the obeisance.(7)
