ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੇ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਹੋਰ ਥੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਨ ਭਾਲਿ ॥

gur sevaa te sukh paaeeai hor thai sukh na bhaal |

Serving the Guru, peace is obtained; do not search for peace anywhere else.

ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਨੁ ਭੇਦੀਐ ਸਦਾ ਵਸੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਲਿ ॥

gur kai sabad man bhedeeai sadaa vasai har naal |

The soul is pierced by the Word of the Guru's Shabad. The Lord dwells ever with the soul.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਤਿਨਾ ਕਉ ਮਿਲੈ ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਵੇਖੈ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਲਿ ॥੧॥

naanak naam tinaa kau milai jin har vekhai nadar nihaal |1|

O Nanak, they alone obtain the Naam, the Name of the Lord, who are blessed by the Lord with His Glance of Grace. ||1||
