ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਆਪਨ ਆਪੁ ਸੁਝੈ ॥

gur prasaad aapan aap sujhai |

By Guru's Grace, one understands himself;

ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਜਾਨਹੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਬੁਝੈ ॥

tis kee jaanahu trisanaa bujhai |

know that then, his thirst is quenched.

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਕਹਤ ॥

saadhasang har har jas kehat |

In the Company of the Holy, one chants the Praises of the Lord, Har, Har.

ਸਰਬ ਰੋਗ ਤੇ ਓਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਜਨੁ ਰਹਤ ॥

sarab rog te ohu har jan rehat |

Such a devotee of the Lord is free of all disease.

ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਕੇਵਲ ਬਖੵਾਨੁ ॥

anadin keeratan keval bakhayaan |

Night and day, sing the Kirtan, the Praises of the One Lord.

ਗ੍ਰਿਹਸਤ ਮਹਿ ਸੋਈ ਨਿਰਬਾਨੁ ॥

grihasat meh soee nirabaan |

In the midst of your household, remain balanced and unattached.

ਏਕ ਊਪਰਿ ਜਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਕੀ ਆਸਾ ॥

ek aoopar jis jan kee aasaa |

One who places his hopes in the One Lord

ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਕਟੀਐ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਫਾਸਾ ॥

tis kee katteeai jam kee faasaa |

the noose of Death is cut away from his neck.

ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕੀ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਭੂਖ ॥

paarabraham kee jis man bhookh |

One whose mind hungers for the Supreme Lord God,

ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਨ ਲਾਗਹਿ ਦੂਖ ॥੪॥

naanak tiseh na laageh dookh |4|

O Nanak, shall not suffer pain. ||4||
