TOMAR STANZA
ਕਰਿ ਕੋਪ ਪਾਰਸ ਰਾਇ ॥
kar kop paaras raae |
ਕਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਅਗਨਿ ਜਰਾਇ ॥
kar aap agan jaraae |
Getting infuriated, Parasnath burnt the fire in his hand,
ਸੋ ਭਈ ਸੀਤਲ ਜ੍ਵਾਲ ॥
so bhee seetal jvaal |
ਅਤਿ ਕਾਲ ਰੂਪ ਕਰਾਲ ॥੩੫੫॥
at kaal roop karaal |355|
which was dreadful in sight, but became cold there.128.355.
ਤਤ ਜੋਗ ਅਗਨਿ ਨਿਕਾਰਿ ॥
tat jog agan nikaar |
ਅਤਿ ਜ੍ਵਲਤ ਰੂਪ ਅਪਾਰਿ ॥
at jvalat roop apaar |
Then he got emerged the Yoga-fire, which was burning dreadfully
ਤਬ ਕੀਅਸ ਆਪਨ ਦਾਹ ॥
tab keeas aapan daah |
ਪੁਰਿ ਲਖਤ ਸਾਹਨ ਸਾਹਿ ॥੩੫੬॥
pur lakhat saahan saeh |356|
He killed himself with that fire and the people of the city continued to see that great king.129.356.
ਤਬ ਜਰੀ ਅਗਨਿ ਬਿਸੇਖ ॥
tab jaree agan bisekh |
ਤ੍ਰਿਣ ਕਾਸਟ ਘਿਰਤ ਅਸੇਖ ॥
trin kaasatt ghirat asekh |
Then with many grass-blades, the faggots alongwith ghee (clarified butter),
ਤਬ ਜਰ︀ਯੋ ਤਾ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਇ ॥
tab jarayo taa meh raae |
ਭਏ ਭਸਮ ਅਦਭੁਤ ਕਾਇ ॥੩੫੭॥
bhe bhasam adabhut kaae |357|
The flames of fire arose, in which the king was burnt and his body was reduced to ashes.130.357.
ਕਈ ਦ︀ਯੋਸ ਬਰਖ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਨ ॥
kee dayos barakh pramaan |
ਸਲ ਜਰਾ ਜੋਰ ਮਹਾਨ ॥
sal jaraa jor mahaan |
That pyre continued to burn for several years, when the body of the king was reduced to ashes
ਭਈ ਭੂਤ ਭਸਮੀ ਦੇਹ ॥
bhee bhoot bhasamee deh |
ਧਨ ਧਾਮ ਛਾਡ︀ਯੋ ਨੇਹ ॥੩੫੮॥
dhan dhaam chhaaddayo neh |358|
And he abandoned the attachment of wealth and place.131.358.
