ਦੈਤ ਹਨ︀ਯੋ ਸੁਨ ਕੈ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਸ੍ਰਉਨਨਿ ਬਾਤ ਕਹੀ ਬਕ ਕੋ ਸੁਨਿ ਲਈਯੈ ॥

dait hanayo sun kai nrip sraunan baat kahee bak ko sun leeyai |

ਹੋਇ ਤਯਾਰ ਅਬੈ ਤੁਮ ਤੋ ਤਜਿ ਕੈ ਮਥੁਰਾ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਮੰਡਲਿ ਜਈਯੈ ॥

hoe tayaar abai tum to taj kai mathuraa brij manddal jeeyai |

Hearing about the killing of demons, the king Kansa said to Bakasura, “Now you abandon Mathura and go to Braja.”

ਕੈ ਤਸਲੀਮ ਚਲਿਯੋ ਤਹ ਕੌ ਚਬਿ ਡਾਰਤ ਹੋ ਮੁਸਲੀਧਰ ਭਈਯੈ ॥

kai tasaleem chaliyo teh kau chab ddaarat ho musaleedhar bheeyai |

He bowed and stated on saying this. “I am going there, when you are sending me

ਕੰਸ ਕਹੀ ਹਸਿ ਕੈ ਉਹਿ ਕੋ ਸੁਨਿ ਰੇ ਉਹਿ ਕੋ ਛਲ ਸੋ ਹਨਿ ਦਈਯੈ ॥੧੫੯॥

kans kahee has kai uhi ko sun re uhi ko chhal so han deeyai |159|

” Kansa said smiling, “You will now kill him (Krishna) through deception.”159.

ਪ੍ਰਾਤ ਭਏ ਬਛਰੇ ਸੰਗ ਲੈ ਕਰਿ ਬੀਚ ਗਏ ਬਨ ਕੈ ਗਿਰਧਾਰੀ ॥

praat bhe bachhare sang lai kar beech ge ban kai giradhaaree |

As the day dawned, Krishna (Girdhari) took the cows and calfs to the forest

ਫੇਰਿ ਗਏ ਜਮੁਨਾ ਤਟਿ ਪੈ ਬਛਰੇ ਜਲ ਸੁਧ ਅਚੈ ਨਹਿ ਖਾਰੀ ॥

fer ge jamunaa tatt pai bachhare jal sudh achai neh khaaree |

Then he went to the bank of Yamuna, where the calves drank pure (and not saltish) water

ਆਇ ਗਯੋ ਉਤ ਦੈਤ ਬਕਾਸੁਰ ਦੇਖਨ ਮਹਿਾਂ ਭਯਾਨਕ ਭਾਰੀ ॥

aae gayo ut dait bakaasur dekhan mahiaan bhayaanak bhaaree |

At that time there came a dreadful-looking demon named Badasura

ਲੀਲ ਲਏ ਸਭ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਬਗੁਲਾ ਫਿਰਿ ਛੋਰਿ ਗਏ ਹਰਿ ਜੋਰ ਗਜਾਰੀ ॥੧੬੦॥

leel le sabh hvai bagulaa fir chhor ge har jor gajaaree |160|

He transformed himself into a heron and gulped all the cattle, whom Krishna had left there.160.
