First Mehl:

ਸੋ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ਜਿ ਉਲਟੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ॥

so bairaagee ji ulatte braham |

He alone is a Bairaagi, who turns himself toward God.

ਗਗਨ ਮੰਡਲ ਮਹਿ ਰੋਪੈ ਥੰਮੁ ॥

gagan manddal meh ropai tham |

In the Tenth Gate, the sky of the mind, he erects his pillar.

ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਰਹੈ ਧਿਆਨਿ ॥

ahinis antar rahai dhiaan |

Night and day, he remains in deep inner meditation.

ਤੇ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ਸਤ ਸਮਾਨਿ ॥

te bairaagee sat samaan |

Such a Bairaagi is just like the True Lord.

ਬੋਲੈ ਭਰਥਰਿ ਸਤਿ ਸਰੂਪੁ ॥

bolai bharathar sat saroop |

Says Bhart'har, God is the embodiment of Truth;

ਪਰਮ ਤੰਤ ਮਹਿ ਰੇਖ ਨ ਰੂਪੁ ॥੬॥

param tant meh rekh na roop |6|

the supreme essence of reality has no shape or form. ||6||
