ੴ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਫ਼ਤਹ ॥

ik oankaar vaahiguroo jee kee fatah |

The Lord is One and the Victory is of the True Guru.

ਤੁਈ ਰਹਿਨੁਮਾਓ ਤੁਈ ਦਿਲ ਕੁਸ਼ਾਇ ॥

tuee rahinumaao tuee dil kushaae |

You are my guide and you are my counsellor,

ਤੁਈ ਦਸਤਗੀਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਹਰ ਦੋ ਸਰਾਇ ॥੧॥

tuee dasatageer andar har do saraae |1|

You lead us, holding our hands, in both the worlds.(1)

ਤੁਈ ਰਾਜ਼ ਰੋਜ਼ੀ ਦਿਹੋ ਦਸਤਗੀਰ ॥

tuee raaz rozee diho dasatageer |

You are our support and provider.

ਕਰੀਮੇ ਖ਼ਤਾ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਦਾਨਸ਼ ਪਜ਼ੀਰ ॥੨॥

kareeme khataa bakhash daanash pazeer |2|

You recognise our deficiency, and are our redeemer.(2)

ਹਿਕਾਯਤ ਸ਼ੁਨੀਦਮ ਯਕੇ ਕਾਜ਼ੀਅਸ਼ ॥

hikaayat shuneedam yake kaazeeash |

I have heard the Tale of a Quazi,

ਕਿ ਬਰਤਰ ਨ ਦੀਦਮ ਕਜ਼ੋ ਦੀਗਰਸ਼ ॥੩॥

ki baratar na deedam kazo deegarash |3|

And I have never seen as good a person as him.(3)

ਯਕੇ ਖ਼ਾਨਹ ਓ ਬਾਨੂਏ ਨਉਜਵਾ ॥

yake khaanah o baanooe naujavaa |

In his household, there was dame, who was at the prime of her youth.

ਕਿ ਕੁਰਬਾ ਸ਼ਵਦ ਹਰਕਸੇ ਨਾਜ਼ਦਾ ॥੪॥

ki kurabaa shavad harakase naazadaa |4|

Her coquetry had made the lives of all the people unendurable.(4)

ਕਿ ਸ਼ੋਸਨ ਸਰੇ ਰਾ ਫ਼ਰੋ ਮੇਜ਼ਦਹ ॥

ki shosan sare raa faro mezadah |

On seeing her, lilacs hung their heads down,

ਗੁਲੇ ਲਾਲਹ ਰਾ ਦਾਗ਼ ਬਰ ਦਿਲ ਸ਼ੁਦਹ ॥੫॥

gule laalah raa daag bar dil shudah |5|

And the flowers of tulip plants felt their hearts rending.(5)

ਕਜ਼ਾ ਸੂਰਤੇ ਮਾਹਿ ਰਾ ਬੀਮ ਸ਼ੁਦ ॥

kazaa soorate maeh raa beem shud |

On her sight the Moon became hesitant

ਰਸ਼ਕ ਸ਼ੋਖ਼ਤਹ ਅਜ਼ ਮਿਯਾ ਨੀਮ ਸ਼ੁਦ ॥੬॥

rashak shokhateh az miyaa neem shud |6|

And, in the passion of jealousy, it diminished half of its brightness.(6)

ਬਕਾਰ ਅਜ਼ ਸੂਏ ਖ਼ਾਨਹ ਬੇਰੂੰ ਰਵਦ ॥

bakaar az sooe khaanah beroon ravad |

Whenever she strolled out of her house on an errand,

ਬ ਦੋਸ਼ੇ ਜ਼ੁਲਫ਼ ਸ਼ੋਰ ਸੁੰਬਲ ਸ਼ਵਦ ॥੭॥

b doshe zulaf shor sunbal shavad |7|

The tresses of her hair sneaked around her shoulders like the clusters of hyacinth.(7)

ਗਰ ਆਬੇ ਬ ਦਰੀਯਾ ਬਸ਼ੋਯਦ ਰੁਖ਼ਸ਼ ॥

gar aabe b dareeyaa bashoyad rukhash |

If ever she washed her face in the river water,

ਹਮਹ ਖ਼ਾਰ ਮਾਹੀ ਸ਼ਵਦ ਗੁਲ ਰੁਖ਼ਸ਼ ॥੮॥

hamah khaar maahee shavad gul rukhash |8|

The thorny bones of the fish would turn into flowers.(8)

ਬਖ਼ਮ ਓ ਫ਼ਿਤਾਦਹ ਹੁਮਾ ਸਾਯਹ ਆਬ ॥

bakham o fitaadah humaa saayah aab |

When she looked into the pitcher of water,

ਜ਼ਿ ਮਸਤੀ ਸ਼ੁਦਹ ਨਾਮ ਨਰਗ਼ਸ ਸ਼ਰਾਬ ॥੯॥

zi masatee shudah naam naragas sharaab |9|

The water was turned into liquor known as the Wine of Narcissus.(9)

ਬਜੀਦਸ਼ ਯਕੇ ਰਾਜਹੇ ਨਉਜਵਾ ॥

bajeedash yake raajahe naujavaa |

She saw a young Raja,

ਕਿ ਹੁਸਨਲ ਜਮਾਲ ਅਸਤੁ ਜ਼ਾਹਰ ਜਹਾ ॥੧੦॥

ki husanal jamaal asat zaahar jahaa |10|

Who was very handsome and famous in the world.(10)

ਬਗੁਫ਼ਤਾ ਕਿ ਏ ਰਾਜਹੇ ਨੇਕ ਬਖ਼ਤ ॥

bagafataa ki e raajahe nek bakhat |

(She) said, ‘Oh! my Raja, let me be besides

ਤੁ ਮਾਰਾ ਬਿਦਿਹ ਜਾਇ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕ ਤਖ਼ਤ ॥੧੧॥

tu maaraa bidih jaae nazadeek takhat |11|

your throne (make me your Queen).’ 11)

ਨਖ਼ੁਸ਼ਤੀ ਸਰੇ ਕਾਜ਼ੀ ਆਵਰ ਤੁ ਰਾਸਤ ॥

nakhushatee sare kaazee aavar tu raasat |

(The Raja replied), ‘First of all you go, slay the head of Quazi, your husband,

ਵਜ਼ਾ ਪਸ ਕਿ ਈਂ ਖ਼ਾਨਹ ਮਾ ਅਜ਼ ਤੁਰਾਸਤੁ ॥੧੨॥

vazaa pas ki een khaanah maa az turaasat |12|

‘Thereafter, my house will be your abode.’(12)

ਸ਼ੁਨੀਦ ਈਂ ਸੁਖ਼ਨ ਰਾ ਦਿਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਿਹਾਦ ॥

shuneed een sukhan raa dil andar nihaad |

Hearing this she concealed the secret in her heart,

ਨ ਰਾਜ਼ੇ ਦਿਗ਼ਰ ਪੇਸ਼ ਅਉਰਤ ਕੁਸ਼ਾਦ ॥੧੩॥

n raaze digar pesh aaurat kushaad |13|

And did not disclose it to any other woman.(13)

ਬ ਵਕਤੇ ਸ਼ੌਹਰ ਰਾ ਚੁ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਖ਼ੁਫ਼ਤਹ ਦੀਦ ॥

b vakate shauahar raa chu khush khufateh deed |

She found her husband in deep slumber,

ਬਿਜ਼ਦ ਤੇਗ਼ ਖ਼ੁਦ ਦਸਤ ਸਰ ਓ ਬੁਰੀਦ ॥੧੪॥

bizad teg khud dasat sar o bureed |14|

She took a sword in her hand and severed his head off.(14)

ਬੁਰੀਦਹ ਸਰ ਓਰਾ ਰਵਾ ਜਾਇ ਗਸ਼ਤ ॥

bureedah sar oraa ravaa jaae gashat |

She took the head and went to the place

ਦਰਾ ਜਾ ਸਬਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਕਿ ਬਿਨਸ਼ਸਤਹ ਅਸਤ ॥੧੫॥

daraa jaa sabal singh ki binashasatah asat |15|

where Sambal Singh (the Raja) was seated.(15)

ਤੁ ਗੁਫ਼ਤੀ ਮਰਾ ਹਮ ਚੁਨੀ ਕਰਦਹਅਮ ॥

tu gufatee maraa ham chunee karadaham |

‘(Oh! Raja), the way you told me, I have done.

ਬਪੇਸ਼ੇ ਤੁ ਈਂ ਸਰ ਮਨ ਆਵੁਰਦਹਅਮ ॥੧੬॥

bapeshe tu een sar man aavuradaham |16|

‘Here, I put the Quazi’s head in front of you.(16)

ਅਗਰ ਸਰ ਤੁ ਖ਼ਾਹੀ ਸਰ ਤੁਮੇ ਦਿਹਮ ॥

agar sar tu khaahee sar tume diham |

‘Even if you want my head, I can give it to you,

ਬ ਜਾਨੋ ਦਿਲੇ ਬਰ ਤੁ ਆਸ਼ਕ ਸ਼ੁਦਮ ॥੧੭॥

b jaano dile bar tu aashak shudam |17|

‘Because I love you from, both, my heart and soul.(17)

ਕਿ ਇਮ ਸ਼ਬ ਕੁਨ ਆਂ ਅਹਿਦ ਤੋ ਬਸਤਈ ॥

ki im shab kun aan ahid to basatee |

‘Oh! my lover, Whatever the word you gave me, you fulfil this very evening.

ਬ ਗਮਜ਼ਹਿ ਚਸ਼ਮ ਜਾਨ ਮਨ ਕੁਸ਼ਤਈ ॥੧੮॥

b gamazeh chasham jaan man kushatee |18|

‘Through the winks of your eyes, you have captured my soul.‘(18)

ਚੁ ਦੀਦਸ਼ ਸਰੇ ਰਾਜਹੇ ਨਉ ਜਵਾ ॥

chu deedash sare raajahe nau javaa |

When the Raja looked at the severed-head, he became fearful,

ਬ ਤਰਸੀਦ ਗੁਫ਼ਤਾਹ ਕਿ ਏ ਬਦ ਨਿਸ਼ਾ ॥੧੯॥

b taraseed gufataah ki e bad nishaa |19|

And said, ‘Oh! You the devilish,(19)

ਚੁਨਾ ਬਦ ਤੁ ਕਰਦੀ ਖ਼ੁਦਵੰਦ ਖ਼ੇਸ਼ ॥

chunaa bad tu karadee khudavand khesh |

‘If you have treated your husband so wickedly,

ਕਿ ਮਾਰਾ ਚਿਯਾਰੀ ਅਜ਼ੀਂ ਕਾਰ ਬੇਸ਼ ॥੨੦॥

ki maaraa chiyaaree azeen kaar besh |20|

‘Then what would you not do to me?(20)

ਜ਼ਿ ਤੋ ਦੋਸਤੀ ਮਨ ਬ ਬਾਜ਼ ਆਮਦਮ ॥

zi to dosatee man b baaz aamadam |

‘I am better off without your friendship, I renounce your fraternity.

ਜ਼ਿ ਕਰਦਹ ਤੁ ਮਨ ਦਰ ਨਿਯਾਜ਼ ਆਮਦਮ ॥੨੧॥

zi karadah tu man dar niyaaz aamadam |21|

‘Your deed has dreaded me.’(21)

ਚੁਨੀ ਬਦ ਤੁ ਕਰਦੀ ਖ਼ੁਦਾਵੰਦ ਕਾਰ ॥

chunee bad tu karadee khudaavand kaar |

‘You have treated your husband in such a bad manner,

ਮਰਾ ਕਰਦਹ ਬਾਸ਼ੀ ਚੁਨੀ ਰੋਜ਼ਗਾਰ ॥੨੨॥

maraa karadah baashee chunee rozagaar |22|

‘You may administer your ill-designs on me too.(22)

ਬਿਅੰਦਾਖ਼ਤ ਸਰ ਰਾ ਦਰਾ ਜਾ ਜ਼ਿ ਦਸਤ ॥

biandaakhat sar raa daraa jaa zi dasat |

She threw the head there and then,

ਬਰੇ ਸੀਨਹ ਓ ਸਰ ਬਿਜ਼ਦ ਹਰ ਦੁ ਦਸਤ ॥੨੩॥

bare seenah o sar bizad har du dasat |23|

And started to beat her chest and head with her hands.(23)

ਮਰਾ ਪੁਸ਼ਤ ਦਾਦੀ ਤੁਰਾ ਹਕ ਦਿਹਦ ॥

maraa pushat daadee turaa hak dihad |

‘You have turned your back on me and God will turn his on you,

ਵਜ਼ਾ ਰੋਜ਼ ਮਉਲਾਇ ਕਾਜ਼ੀ ਸ਼ਵਦ ॥੨੪॥

vazaa roz maulaae kaazee shavad |24|

‘And that will be the day of God’s judgement upon you.’(24)

ਬਿਅੰਦਾਖ਼ਤ ਸਰ ਖ਼ਾਨਹ ਆਮਦ ਬੁਬਾਜ਼ ॥

biandaakhat sar khaanah aamad bubaaz |

Throwing the head there, she returned to her house.

ਬਆਂ ਲਾਸ਼ ਕਾਜ਼ੀ ਬਖ਼ੁਸ਼ਪੀਦ ਦਰਾਜ਼ ॥੨੫॥

baan laash kaazee bakhushapeed daraaz |25|

Lying besides the dead-body of the Quazi, she went to sleep.(25)

ਬਿਅੰਦਾਖ਼ਤ ਬਰ ਸਰ ਜ਼ਿ ਖ਼ੁਦ ਦਸਤ ਖ਼ਾਕ ॥

biandaakhat bar sar zi khud dasat khaak |

(Later, she got up), put dust in her hair, and shouted.

ਬਿਗੁਫ਼ਤਾ ਕਿ ਖ਼ੇਜ਼ੇਦ ਯਾਰਾਨ ਪਾਕ ॥੨੬॥

bigafataa ki khezed yaaraan paak |26|

‘Oh! My pious friends, get here,(26)

ਕਿ ਬਦਕਾਰ ਕਰਦ ਈਂ ਕਸੇ ਸ਼ੋਰ ਬਖ਼ਤ ॥

ki badakaar karad een kase shor bakhat |

‘Some evil man has committed an evil act.

ਕਿ ਕਾਜ਼ੀ ਬ ਜਾ ਕੁਸ਼ਤ ਯਕ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮ ਸਖ਼ਤ ॥੨੭॥

ki kaazee b jaa kushat yak zakham sakhat |27|

‘With one stroke he has killed the Quazi.’(27)

ਬ ਹਰ ਜਾ ਕਿ ਯਾਬੇਦ ਖ਼ੂੰਨਸ਼ ਨਿਸ਼ਾ ॥

b har jaa ki yaabed khoonash nishaa |

Following the traces of blood, people started to proceed,

ਹੁਮਾ ਰਾਹ ਗੀਰੰਦ ਹਮਹ ਮਰਦੁਮਾ ॥੨੮॥

humaa raah geerand hamah maradumaa |28|

And they all took the same path.(28)

ਬ ਆਂ ਜਾ ਜਹਾ ਖ਼ਲਕ ਇਸਤਾਦਹ ਕਰਦ ॥

b aan jaa jahaa khalak isataadah karad |

She brought all the people to that place,

ਬਜਾਏ ਕਿ ਸਰ ਕਾਜ਼ੀ ਅਫ਼ਤਾਦਹ ਕਰਦ ॥੨੯॥

bajaae ki sar kaazee afataadah karad |29|

Where she had thrown the Quazi’s head.(29)

ਬਿਦਾਨਿਸ਼ਤ ਹਮਹ ਔਰਤੋ ਮਰਦੁਮਾ ॥

bidaanishat hamah aauarato maradumaa |

The woman convinced the people,

ਕਿ ਈਂ ਰਾ ਬ ਕੁਸ਼ਤ ਅਸਤ ਰਾਜਹ ਹੁਮਾ ॥੩੦॥

ki een raa b kushat asat raajah humaa |30|

That the Raja had killed the Quazi.(30)

ਗਿਰਫ਼ਤੰਦ ਓ ਰਾ ਬੁਬਸਤੰਦ ਸਖ਼ਤ ॥

girafatand o raa bubasatand sakhat |

They (the people) got hold of the Raja and tied him,

ਕਿ ਜਾਏ ਜਹਾਗੀਰ ਬਿਨਸ਼ਸਤਹ ਤਖ਼ਤ ॥੩੧॥

ki jaae jahaageer binashasatah takhat |31|

And brought him there, where the (Emperor) Jehangir was seated on his throne.(31)

ਬਿ ਗੁਫ਼ਤੰਦ ਕਿ ਈਂ ਰਾ ਹਵਾਲਹ ਕੁਨਦ ॥

bi gufatand ki een raa havaalah kunad |

The Emperor thought, ‘If I hand over (the Raja) to the Quazi’s wife,

ਬ ਦਿਲ ਹਰਚਿ ਦਾਰਦ ਸਜ਼ਾਯਸ਼ ਦਿਹਦ ॥੩੨॥

b dil harach daarad sazaayash dihad |32|

‘She will deal with him the way she wanted.’(32)

ਬਿ ਫ਼ਰਮੂਦ ਜਲਾਦ ਰਾ ਸ਼ੋਰ ਬਖ਼ਤ ॥

bi faramood jalaad raa shor bakhat |

Then he ordered the executioner,

ਕਿ ਈਂ ਸਰ ਜੁਦਾ ਕੁਨ ਬ ਯਕ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮ ਸਖ਼ਤ ॥੩੩॥

ki een sar judaa kun b yak zakham sakhat |33|

‘Slay the head of this man with one hard stroke.’(33)

ਚੁ ਸ਼ਮਸ਼ੇਰ ਰਾ ਦੀਦ ਆਂ ਨੌਜਵਾ ॥

chu shamasher raa deed aan nauajavaa |

When that young man saw the sword,

ਬ ਲਰਜ਼ਹ ਦਰਾਮਦ ਚੁ ਸਰਵੇ ਗਿਰਾ ॥੩੪॥

b larazah daraamad chu sarave giraa |34|

He started to shake like a huge cypress tree.(34)

ਬਗ਼ੁਫ਼ਤਾ ਕਿ ਮਨ ਕਾਰ ਬਦ ਕਰਦਹਅਮ ॥

bagafataa ki man kaar bad karadaham |

And whispered (to the woman), ‘Whatever bad deed I performed,

ਬ ਕਾਰੇ ਸ਼ੁਮਾ ਤਉਰ ਖ਼ੁਦ ਕਰਦਹਅਮ ॥੩੫॥

b kaare shumaa taur khud karadaham |35|

‘I did it to capture your heart.’(35)

ਨਮੂਦਹ ਇਸ਼ਾਰਤ ਬਿ ਚਸ਼ਮੇ ਬਿਆਂ ॥

namoodah ishaarat bi chashame biaan |

Then, winking, he added, ‘Oh you the Lady among all the ladies.

ਕਿ ਏ ਬਾਨੂਏ ਸਰਵਰੇ ਬਾਨੂਆਂ ॥੩੬॥

ki e baanooe saravare baanooaan |36|

‘And the Queen among all the Queens,(36)

ਬਹੁਕਮੇ ਸ਼ੁਮਾ ਮਨ ਖ਼ਤਾ ਕਰਦਹਅਮ ॥

bahukame shumaa man khataa karadaham |

‘If I disobeyed you, I committed a sin.

ਕਿ ਕਾਰ ਈਂ ਬਬੇ ਮਸਲਹਤ ਕਰਦਹਅਮ ॥੩੭॥

ki kaar een babe masalahat karadaham |37|

‘I committed this act without thinking and without asking you,(37)

ਖ਼ਲਾਸਮ ਬਿਦਿਹ ਅਹਦ ਕਰਦਮ ਕਬੂਲ ॥

khalaasam bidih aehad karadam kabool |

‘Now, let me go free. I will obey your command,

ਕਿ ਅਹਿਦੇ ਖ਼ੁਦਾ ਅਸਤ ਕਸਮੇ ਰਸੂਲ ॥੩੮॥

ki ahide khudaa asat kasame rasool |38|

‘And I say this to swear upon the God.(38)

ਗੁਨਹ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਤੋ ਮਨ ਖ਼ਤਾ ਕਰਦਹਅਮ ॥

gunah bakhash to man khataa karadaham |

‘I have perpetrated, please forgive me,

ਕਿ ਏ ਜਿਗਰ ਜਾ ਮਨ ਗ਼ੁਲਾਮੇ ਤੁਅਮ ॥੩੯॥

ki e jigar jaa man gulaame tuam |39|

‘I will remain your slave.’(39)

ਬ ਗੁਫ਼ਤਾ ਗਰ ਈਂ ਰਾਜਹ ਪਾ ਸਦ ਕੁਸ਼ਮ ॥

b gufataa gar een raajah paa sad kusham |

She soliloquised, ‘If I kill five hundred Rajas like him,

ਨ ਕਾਜ਼ੀ ਮਰਾ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਹ ਦਸਤ ਆਮਦਮ ॥੪੦॥

n kaazee maraa zindah dasat aamadam |40|

‘Even then Quazi will not come to life.’(40)

ਕਿ ਓ ਕੁਸ਼ਤਹ ਗਸ਼ਤਹ ਚਰਾ ਈਂ ਕੁਸ਼ਮ ॥

ki o kushatah gashatah charaa een kusham |

‘Now when Quazi is dead, why should I kill him too?

ਕਿ ਖ਼ੂਨੇ ਅਜ਼ੀਂ ਬਰ ਸਰੇ ਖ਼ੁਦ ਕੁਨਮ ॥੪੧॥

ki khoone azeen bar sare khud kunam |41|

‘Why should I take the curse of killing him upon myself?(41)

ਚਿ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ਤਰ ਕਿ ਈਂ ਰਾ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਦਿਹਮ ॥

chi khushatar ki een raa khalaasee diham |

‘Wouldn’t it be better if I let him go free,

ਵ ਮਨ ਹਜ਼ਰਤੇ ਕਾਬਹ ਅਲਹ ਰਵਮ ॥੪੨॥

v man hazarate kaabah alah ravam |42|

‘And proceed on pilgrimage to Kabah at Mecca.’(42)

ਬਗੁਫ਼ਤ ਈਂ ਸੁਖਨ ਰਾਵ ਕਰਦਸ਼ ਖ਼ਲਾਸ ॥

bagafat een sukhan raav karadash khalaas |

Saying so, she let loose him,

ਬ ਖ਼ਾਨਹ ਖ਼ੁਦ ਆਮਦ ਜਮੈ ਕਰਦ ਖ਼ਾਸ ॥੪੩॥

b khaanah khud aamad jamai karad khaas |43|

Then she went home and collected a few prominent people.(43)

ਬੁਬਸਤੰਦ ਬਾਰੋ ਤਯਾਰੀ ਕੁਨਦ ॥

bubasatand baaro tayaaree kunad |

She gathered her goods, got ready and preyed,

ਕਿ ਏਜ਼ਦ ਮਰਾ ਕਾਮਗਾਰੀ ਦਿਹਦ ॥੪੪॥

ki ezad maraa kaamagaaree dihad |44|

‘Please God, help me to fulfil my ambition.(44)

ਦਰੇਗ਼ ਅਜ਼ ਕਬਾਯਲ ਜੁਦਾ ਮੇ ਸ਼ਵਮ ॥

dareg az kabaayal judaa me shavam |

‘I regret that I am going away from my fraternity,

ਅਗਰ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਹ ਬਾਸ਼ਮ ਬਬਾਜ਼ ਆਮਦਮ ॥੪੫॥

agar zindah baasham babaaz aamadam |45|

‘If I remain alive, I may come back.’(45)

ਮਤਾਏ ਨਕਦ ਜਿਨਸ ਰਾ ਬਾਰ ਬਸਤ ॥

mataae nakad jinas raa baar basat |

She put all her money, jewellery and other precious articles in the bundles,

ਰਵਾਨਹ ਸੂਏ ਕਾਬਹ ਤਅਲਹ ਸ਼ੁਦ ਅਸਤ ॥੪੬॥

ravaanah sooe kaabah talah shud asat |46|

‘And commenced her journey towards the House of Allah at Kabah.‘(46)

ਚੁ ਬੇਰੂੰ ਬਰਾਮਦ ਦੁ ਸੇ ਮੰਜ਼ਲਸ਼ ॥

chu beroon baraamad du se manzalash |

When she had covered three stages of her voyage,

ਬਯਾਦ ਆਮਦਹ ਖ਼ਾਨਹ ਜ਼ਾ ਦੋਸਤਸ਼ ॥੪੭॥

bayaad aamadah khaanah zaa dosatash |47|

She thought of the house of her friend (Raja).(47)

ਬੁਬਾਜ਼ ਆਮਦਹ ਨੀਮ ਸ਼ਬ ਖ਼ਾਨਹ ਆਂ ॥

bubaaz aamadah neem shab khaanah aan |

At midnight, she returned to his house,

ਚਿ ਨਿਆਮਤ ਅਜ਼ੀਮੋ ਚਿ ਦਉਲਤ ਗਿਰਾ ॥੪੮॥

chi niaamat azeemo chi daulat giraa |48|

Along with all sort of gifts and souvenirs.(48)

ਬਿਦਾਨਿਸਤ ਆਲਮ ਕੁਜ਼ਾ ਜਾਇ ਗਸ਼ਤ ॥

bidaanisat aalam kuzaa jaae gashat |

The people of the world never realised, where had she gone.

ਚਿ ਦਾਨਦ ਕਿ ਕਸ ਹਾਲ ਬਰ ਸਰ ਗੁਜ਼ਸ਼ਤ ॥੪੯॥

chi daanad ki kas haal bar sar guzashat |49|

And no body cared what state of affairs she had been passing through?(49)

ਬਿਦਿਹ ਸਾਕੀਯਾ ਪ︀ਯਾਲਹ ਫ਼ੇਰੋਜ਼ ਫ਼ਾਮ ॥

bidih saakeeyaa payaalah feroz faam |

(The poet says), ‘Oh! Saki, Give me the cup full of green (liquid),

ਕਿ ਮਾਰਾ ਬਕਾਰ ਅਸਤ ਦਰ ਵਕਤ ਤੁਆਮ ॥੫੦॥

ki maaraa bakaar asat dar vakat tuaam |50|

‘Which I need at the time of my nourishment.(50)

ਬਮਨ ਦਿਹ ਕਿ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ਤਰ ਦਿਮਾਗ਼ੇ ਕੁਨਮ ॥

baman dih ki khushatar dimaage kunam |

‘Give it to me so that I can contemplate,

ਕਿ ਰੌਸ਼ਨ ਤਬੈ ਚੂੰ ਚਰਾਗ਼ੇ ਕੁਨਮ ॥੫੧॥੫॥

ki rauashan tabai choon charaage kunam |51|5|

‘As it kindles my thought like an earthen-lamp.’(51)(5)
