Soohee, Fifth Mehl:

ਵਿਸਰਹਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਜਿਤੁ ਤੂ ਕਬਹੂ ਸੋ ਥਾਨੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਕੇਹਾ ॥

visareh naahee jit too kabahoo so thaan teraa kehaa |

Where is that place, where You are never forgotten, Lord?

ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਜਿਤੁ ਤੁਧੁ ਧਿਆਈ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਹੋਵੈ ਦੇਹਾ ॥੧॥

aatth pehar jit tudh dhiaaee niramal hovai dehaa |1|

Twenty-four hours a day, they meditate on You, and their bodies become spotless and pure. ||1||

ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਹਉ ਸੋ ਥਾਨੁ ਭਾਲਣ ਆਇਆ ॥

mere raam hau so thaan bhaalan aaeaa |

O my Lord, I have come searching for that place.

ਖੋਜਤ ਖੋਜਤ ਭਇਆ ਸਾਧਸੰਗੁ ਤਿਨੑ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

khojat khojat bheaa saadhasang tina saranaaee paaeaa |1| rahaau |

After seeking and searching, I found Sanctuary in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||1||Pause||

ਬੇਦ ਪੜੇ ਪੜਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੇ ਹਾਰੇ ਇਕੁ ਤਿਲੁ ਨਹੀ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਪਾਈ ॥

bed parre parr brahame haare ik til nahee keemat paaee |

Reading and reciting the Vedas, Brahma grew weary, but he did not find even a tiny bit of God's worth.

ਸਾਧਿਕ ਸਿਧ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਬਿਲਲਾਤੇ ਤੇ ਭੀ ਮੋਹੇ ਮਾਈ ॥੨॥

saadhik sidh fireh bilalaate te bhee mohe maaee |2|

The seekers and Siddhas wander around bewailing; they too are enticed by Maya. ||2||

ਦਸ ਅਉਤਾਰ ਰਾਜੇ ਹੋਇ ਵਰਤੇ ਮਹਾਦੇਵ ਅਉਧੂਤਾ ॥

das aautaar raaje hoe varate mahaadev aaudhootaa |

There were ten regal incarnations of Vishnu; and then there was Shiva, the renunciate.

ਤਿਨੑ ਭੀ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਓ ਤੇਰਾ ਲਾਇ ਥਕੇ ਬਿਭੂਤਾ ॥੩॥

tina bhee ant na paaeo teraa laae thake bibhootaa |3|

He did not find Your limits either, although he grew weary of smearing his body with ashes. ||3||

ਸਹਜ ਸੂਖ ਆਨੰਦ ਨਾਮ ਰਸ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤੀ ਮੰਗਲੁ ਗਾਇਆ ॥

sehaj sookh aanand naam ras har santee mangal gaaeaa |

Peace, poise and bliss are found in the subtle essence of the Naam. The Lord's Saints sing the songs of joy.

ਸਫਲ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਾ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥੪॥੨॥੪੯॥

safal darasan bhettio gur naanak taa man tan har har dhiaaeaa |4|2|49|

I have obtained the Fruitful Vision of Guru Nanak's Darshan, and with my mind and body I meditate on the Lord, Har, Har. ||4||2||49||
