ਸਾਦਹੁ ਸਬਦਹੁ ਬਾਹਰਾ ਅਕਥ ਕਥਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਜਿਹਬਾ ਜਾਣੈ ।

saadahu sabadahu baaharaa akath kathaa kiaun jihabaa jaanai |

The Lord is beyond taste and words; how can His ineffable story be told by tongue?

ਉਸਤਤਿ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਬਾਹਰਾ ਕਥਨੀ ਬਦਨੀ ਵਿਚਿ ਨ ਆਣੈ ।

ausatat nindaa baaharaa kathanee badanee vich na aanai |

He being beyond praise and slander does not come in the periphery of telling and hearing.

ਗੰਧ ਸਪਰਸੁ ਅਗੋਚਰਾ ਨਾਸ ਸਾਸ ਹੇਰਤਿ ਹੈਰਾਣੇ ।

gandh saparas agocharaa naas saas herat hairaane |

He is beyond smell and touch and the nose, and the breath is also wonder-struck but cannot know Him.

ਵਰਨਹੁ ਚਿਹਨਹੁ ਬਾਹਰਾ ਦਿਸਟਿ ਅਦਿਸਟਿ ਨ ਧਿਆਨੁ ਧਿਙਾਣੈ ।

varanahu chihanahu baaharaa disatt adisatt na dhiaan dhingaanai |

He is away from any varna and symbolism and is even beyond the sight of concentration.

ਨਿਰਾਲੰਬੁ ਅਵਲੰਬ ਵਿਣੁ ਧਰਤਿ ਅਗਾਸਿ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ਵਿਡਾਣੈ ।

niraalanb avalanb vin dharat agaas nivaas viddaanai |

Without any prop He resides in the grandeur of earth and sky.

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਚਖੰਡਿ ਹੈ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੁ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੁ ਸਿਞਾਣੈ ।

saadhasangat sachakhandd hai nirankaar gur sabad siyaanai |

Holy congregation is the abode of truth where through the word of the Guru, the formless Lord is recognised.

ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਕਾਦਰ ਨੋ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੈ ।੧੨।

kudarat kaadar no kurabaanai |12|

Whole of this creation is sacrifice unto the creator.
