ਭੂਪ ਅਨਰੁਧ ਸਿੰਘ ਠਾਢੋ ਹੁਤੋ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਤੀਰ ਹਰਿ ਜੂ ਬਿਲੋਕ ਕੈ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਬੋਲਿ ਲਯੋ ਹੈ ॥

The king Aniruddh Singh was standing near Krishna, seeing him, Krishna called him

ਕੀਨੋ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਘਨ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਜਾਹੁ ਤੁਮ ਰਥਹਿ ਧਵਾਇ ਚਲਿਯੋ ਰਨ ਮਾਝ ਗਯੋ ਹੈ ॥

keeno sanamaan ghan sayaam kahiyo jaahu tum ratheh dhavaae chaliyo ran maajh gayo hai |

Giving him great respect, he asked him to go for fighting, receiving the command, he entered the war-arena

ਤੀਰ ਤਰਵਾਰਨ ਕੋ ਸੈਥੀ ਜਮਦਾਰਨ ਕੋ ਘਟਕਾ ਦੁਇ ਤਿਹੀ ਠਉਰ ਮਹਾ ਜੁਧੁ ਭਯੋ ਹੈ ॥

teer taravaaran ko saithee jamadaaran ko ghattakaa due tihee tthaur mahaa judh bhayo hai |

A violent war was fought there with arrows, swords and lances

ਜੈਸੇ ਸਿੰਘ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਕੋ ਸਿਚਾਨੋ ਜੈਸੇ ਚਿਰੀਆ ਕੋ ਤੈਸੇ ਹਰਿ ਬੀਰ ਕੋ ਸਮਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਹਯੋ ਹੈ ॥੧੨੯੪॥

jaise singh mrig ko sichaano jaise chireea ko taise har beer ko samar singh hayo hai |1294|

Just like a lion kills a deer or a falcon kills a sparrow, in the same manner this warrior of Krishna was killed by Samar Singh.1294.

ਜੈਸੇ ਕੋਊ ਅਉਖਦਿ ਕੇ ਬਲ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਦੂਰ ਕਰੇ ਸਤਿ ਬੈਦ ਰੋਗ ਸੰਨਿਪਾਤ ਕੋ ॥

jaise koaoo aaukhad ke bal kab sayaam kahai door kare sat baid rog sanipaat ko |

ਜੈਸੇ ਕੋਊ ਸੁਕਬਿ ਕੁਕਬਿ ਕੇ ਕਬਿਤ ਸੁਨਿ ਸਭਾ ਬੀਚ ਦੂਖਿ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਨਤ ਨ ਬਾਤ ਕੋ ॥

jaise koaoo sukab kukab ke kabit sun sabhaa beech dookh kar maanat na baat ko |

The poet Shyam says, just as someone removes a grave ailment with the help of medicine or a good poet on listening to a poem of poetaster does not appreciate it in the gathering,

ਜੈਸੇ ਸਿੰਘ ਨਾਗ ਕੋ ਹਨਤ ਜਲ ਆਗ ਕੋ ਅਮਲ ਸੁਰ ਰਾਗ ਕੋ ਸਚਿੰਤ ਨਰ ਗਾਤ ਕੋ ॥

jaise singh naag ko hanat jal aag ko amal sur raag ko sachint nar gaat ko |

Just as a lion destroys a snake and the water destroys the fire or the intoxicating objects destroy a melodious throat,

ਤੈਸੇ ਤਤਕਾਲ ਹਰਿ ਬੀਰ ਮਾਰ ਡਾਰਿਯੋ ਜੈਸੇ ਲੋਭ ਹੂੰ ਤੇ ਮਹਾ ਗੁਨਿ ਨਾਸੈ ਤਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਤ ਕੋ ॥੧੨੯੫॥

taise tatakaal har beer maar ddaariyo jaise lobh hoon te mahaa gun naasai tam praat ko |1295|

In the same manner this warrior of Krishna was also killed by Samar Singh, the life-force went out from his body like the virtues speeding away on account of greed or the darkness running away at day-dawn.1295

ਬੀਰਭਦ੍ਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਾਸੁਦੇਵ ਸਿੰਘ ਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਕੋਪ ਕਰਿ ਅਰਿ ਸਮੁਹੇ ਭਏ ॥

beerabhadr singh baasudev singh beer singh bal singh kop kar ar samuhe bhe |

The warriors named Virbhadar Singh, Vasudev Singh, Vir Singh and Bal Singh, in their fury, confronted the enemy

ਸਮਰ ਕੇ ਬੀਚ ਜਹਾ ਠਾਢੋ ਹੈ ਸਮਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਤਾਹੀ ਕੋ ਨਿਹਾਰਿ ਰੂਪ ਪਾਵਕ ਸੇ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਗਏ ॥

samar ke beech jahaa tthaadto hai samar singh taahee ko nihaar roop paavak se hvai ge |

On seeing Samar Singh, standing in the battlefield, they blazed like fire

ਆਯੁਧ ਸੰਭਾਰਿ ਲੀਨੇ ਜੁਧ ਮੈ ਸਬੈ ਪ੍ਰਬੀਨੇ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਜੂ ਕੇ ਬੀਰ ਚਾਰੋ ਓਰ ਹੂੰ ਤੇ ਆ ਖਏ ॥

aayudh sanbhaar leene judh mai sabai prabeene sayaam joo ke beer chaaro or hoon te aa khe |

ਤਾਹੀ ਸਮੇ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਤਾਨ ਕੇ ਕਮਾਨ ਬਾਨ ਚਾਰੋ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਹਰਿ ਜੂ ਕੇ ਮਾਰਿ ਛਿਨ ਮੈ ਲਏ ॥੧੨੯੬॥

taahee same balavaan taan ke kamaan baan chaaro nrip har joo ke maar chhin mai le |1296|

Holding their weapons, these skillful warriors of Krishna fell upon Samar Singh from all the four sides, at the same time, that mighty warrior pulled his bow and knocked down all the four warrior (kings) of Krishna in an instant.1296.
