BHUJANG PRAYAAT STANZA

ਦਈ ਕਾਲ ਆਗਿਆ ਧਰਿਯੋ ਬਿਸਨ ਰੂਪੰ ॥

dee kaal aagiaa dhariyo bisan roopan |

ਸਜੇ ਸਾਜ ਸਰਬੰ ਬਨਿਯੋ ਜਾਨ ਭੂਪੰ ॥

saje saaj saraban baniyo jaan bhoopan |

The Destroyer Lord commanded and Vishnu manifested himself in the form of Jalandhar, and bedecked in all manner, he appeared as a kiing.

ਕਰਿਯੋ ਨਾਥ ਯੋ ਆਪ ਨਾਰੰ ਉਧਾਰੰ ॥

kariyo naath yo aap naaran udhaaran |

ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਰਾਜ ਬ੍ਰਿੰਦਾ ਸਤੀ ਸਤ ਟਾਰੰ ॥੨੧॥

triyaa raaj brindaa satee sat ttaaran |21|

Vishnu manifested himself in this form in order to protect his wife, and in this way, he defiled the chastity of the extremely chaste Varinda.21.

ਤਜਿਯੋ ਦੇਹਿ ਦੈਤੰ ਭਈ ਬਿਸਨੁ ਨਾਰੰ ॥

tajiyo dehi daitan bhee bisan naaran |

ਧਰਿਯੋ ਦੁਆਦਸਮੋ ਬਿਸਨੁ ਦਈਤਾਵਤਾਰੰ ॥

dhariyo duaadasamo bisan deetaavataaran |

Abandoning the body of demoness, Varinda again manifested herself as Lakshmi, the wife of Vishnu and in this way Vishnu assumed the twelfth incarnation in the form of a demon.

ਪੁਨਰ ਜੁਧੁ ਸਜਿਯੋ ਗਹੇ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਪਾਣੰ ॥

punar judh sajiyo gahe sasatr paanan |

ਗਿਰੇ ਭੂਮਿ ਮੋ ਸੂਰ ਸੋਭੇ ਬਿਮਾਣੰ ॥੨੨॥

gire bhoom mo soor sobhe bimaanan |22|

The war continued again and the warriors held their weapons in their hands the brave fighters began to fall in the battlefield and also the air-vehicles came down in order to take away the dead warriors from the battlefield.22.

ਮਿਟਿਯੋ ਸਤਿ ਨਾਰੰ ਕਟਿਯੋ ਸੈਨ ਸਰਬੰ ॥

mittiyo sat naaran kattiyo sain saraban |

ਮਿਟਿਯੋ ਭੂਪ ਜਾਲੰਧਰੰ ਦੇਹ ਗਰਬੰ ॥

mittiyo bhoop jaalandharan deh garaban |

On this side, the chastity of woman was defiled and on that side all the army was chopped. By this the pride of Jalandhar was shattered.

ਪੁਨਰ ਜੁਧ ਸਜਿਯੋ ਹਠੇ ਤੇਜ ਹੀਣੰ ॥

punar judh sajiyo hatthe tej heenan |

ਭਜੇ ਛਾਡ ਕੈ ਸੰਗ ਸਾਥੀ ਅਧੀਣੰ ॥੨੩॥

bhaje chhaadd kai sang saathee adheenan |23|

But still weak king continued the fight and all his companions and subordinates ran away from the battlefield.23.
