CHHAPAI

ਤਬਹਿ ਦ੍ਰਉਣ ਰਿਸ ਕੋ ਬਢਾਇ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਸਉਹੈ ਧਾਯੋ ॥

tabeh draun ris ko badtaae nrip sauhai dhaayo |

ਅਸਤ੍ਰ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਗਹਿ ਪਾਨਿ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਜੁਧ ਮਚਾਯੋ ॥

asatr sasatr geh paan bahut bidh judh machaayo |

Then Dronacharya came angrily before the king and he waged a dreadful war, holding his weapons and arms

ਅਧਿਕ ਸ੍ਰਉਣ ਤਨ ਭਰੇ ਲਰੇ ਭਟ ਘਾਇਲ ਐਸੇ ॥

adhik sraun tan bhare lare bhatt ghaaeil aise |

ਲਾਲ ਗੁਲਾਲ ਭਰੇ ਪਟਿ ਖੇਲਤ ਚਾਚਰ ਜੈਸੇ ॥

laal gulaal bhare patt khelat chaachar jaise |

The warriors, getting wounded and a good deal of blood out of their bodies, they appear to have played the Holi with red colour and also wearing red clothes

ਤਬ ਦੇਖਿ ਸਭੈ ਸੁਰ ਯੌ ਕਹੈ ਧਨਿ ਦਿਜ ਧਨਿ ਸੁ ਭੂਪ ਤੁਅ ॥

tab dekh sabhai sur yau kahai dhan dij dhan su bhoop tua |

ਜੁਗ ਚਾਰਨ ਮੈ ਅਬ ਲਉ ਕਹੂੰ ਐਸੇ ਜੁਧ ਨ ਭਯੋ ਭੁਅ ॥੧੬੩੩॥

jug chaaran mai ab lau kahoon aise judh na bhayo bhua |1633|

The gods seeing this hailed Dronacharya and the king Kharag Singh and also said, ”Such a war has not been fought on the earth during the four ages.”1633.
