ਹੋਡ ਰੁਮਾਲ ਹੇਤ ਤਿਨ ਪਰੀ ॥

hodd rumaal het tin paree |

ਮੁਹਰ ਸਾਤ ਸੈ ਠਗਹੂੰ ਹਰੀ ॥

muhar saat sai tthagahoon haree |

ਪੁਨ ਬਾਰੀ ਤਸਕਰ ਕੀ ਆਈ ॥

pun baaree tasakar kee aaee |

‘Then came the turn of the thief and

ਤੁਮੈ ਕਥਾ ਸੋ ਕਹੌ ਸੁਨਾਈ ॥੭॥

tumai kathaa so kahau sunaaee |7|

I am going to tell you his story,(7)

ਹਜਰਤਿ ਤੇ ਤਸਕਰ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਆਯੋ ॥

hajarat te tasakar grih aayo |

‘That thief, then, came to the honourable’s house and

ਗਪਿਯਾ ਕਹ ਜਮ ਲੋਕ ਪਠਾਯੋ ॥

gapiyaa keh jam lok patthaayo |

Despatched the gossiper to the angel of death.

ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਲਾਲ ਪਗਿਯਾ ਜੁਤ ਹਰੀ ॥

basatr laal pagiyaa jut haree |

‘He took with him the red turban and

ਗੋਸਟਿ ਬੈਠਿ ਸਾਹ ਸੋ ਕਰੀ ॥੮॥

gosatt baitth saah so karee |8|
