First Mehl:

ਨਾਨਕ ਮਨ ਕੇ ਕੰਮ ਫਿਟਿਆ ਗਣਤ ਨ ਆਵਹੀ ॥

naanak man ke kam fittiaa ganat na aavahee |

O Nanak, wicked are the uncountable actions of the mind.

ਕਿਤੀ ਲਹਾ ਸਹੰਮ ਜਾ ਬਖਸੇ ਤਾ ਧਕਾ ਨਹੀ ॥੨॥

kitee lahaa saham jaa bakhase taa dhakaa nahee |2|

They bring terrible and painful retributions, but if the Lord forgives me, then I will be spared this punishment. ||2||
