Dohira

ਬੈਲ ਪੂਛਿ ਗਹਿ ਕੈ ਜਬੈ ਗਈ ਨਦੀ ਕੇ ਧਾਰ ॥

bail poochh geh kai jabai gee nadee ke dhaar |

Holding the tail of a bull, when she jumped into the water,

ਦ੍ਰਿੜ ਕਰਿ ਯਾ ਕਹ ਪਕਰਿਯੈ ਬੋਲ ਸੁ ਕੂਕਿ ਗਵਾਰ ॥੧੫॥

drirr kar yaa keh pakariyai bol su kook gavaar |15|

All shouted to hold the tail very tightly.(15)

ਛੋਰਿ ਪੂਛਿ ਕਰ ਤੇ ਦਈ ਸੁਨੀ ਕੂਕਿ ਜਬ ਕਾਨ ॥

chhor poochh kar te dee sunee kook jab kaan |

But when she heard this she let the tail loose,

ਗਾਰੀ ਭਾਖਤ ਬਹਿ ਗਈ ਜਮ ਪੁਰ ਕਿਯਸਿ ਪਯਾਨ ॥੧੬॥

gaaree bhaakhat beh gee jam pur kiyas payaan |16|

And swearing loudly departed to the domain of angel of the death.(16)

ਨਾਰਿ ਕਲਹਨੀ ਬੋਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਟ ਅਯੋ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਮਾਹਿ ॥

naar kalahanee bor kar jaatt ayo grih maeh |

Thus getting rid of that quarrelsome woman Jat came back home,

ਕਹਾ ਸੁਖੀ ਤੇ ਜਨ ਬਸੈ ਅਸਿਨ ਬ︀ਯਾਹਨ ਜਾਹਿ ॥੧੭॥

kahaa sukhee te jan basai asin bayaahan jaeh |17|

How can a man, who is married to such a woman, live peacefully.(17)(1)
