ਚਲੌ ਤ ਏਕੈ ਮਗੁ ਚਲੌ ਰਹੇ ਰਹੌ ਤਿਹ ਗਾਉ ॥

chalau ta ekai mag chalau rahe rahau tih gaau |

‘Corne, let us take the same path and live side by side,

ਨਿਸੁ ਦਿਨ ਰਟੌ ਬਿਹੰਗ ਜ︀ਯੋ ਮੀਤ ਤਿਹਾਰੋ ਨਾਉ ॥੧੯॥

nis din rattau bihang jayo meet tihaaro naau |19|

‘And I will always remember you and remain with you.’(19)

ਬਿਰਹ ਬਾਨ ਮੋ ਤਨ ਗਡੇ ਕਾ ਸੋ ਕਰੋ ਪੁਕਾਰ ॥

birah baan mo tan gadde kaa so karo pukaar |

‘I have been pierced with the arrow of separation, how could I remonstrate?

ਤਨਕ ਅਗਨਿ ਕੋ ਸਿਵ ਭਏ ਜਰੌ ਸੰਭਾਰਿ ਸੰਭਾਰਿ ॥੨੦॥

tanak agan ko siv bhe jarau sanbhaar sanbhaar |20|

‘Slowly and steadily, I am scorching in the fire ofthis estrangement.(20)

ਆਜੁ ਸਖੀ ਮੈ ਯੌ ਸੁਨ︀ਯੋ ਪਹੁ ਫਾਟਤ ਪਿਯ ਗੌਨ ॥

aaj sakhee mai yau sunayo pahu faattat piy gauan |

‘Oh, rny friends, I have heard that at the day break my lover will go away.

ਪਹੁ ਹਿਯਰੇ ਝਗਰਾ ਪਰਿਯੋ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਫਟਿ ਹੈ ਕੌਨ ॥੨੧॥

pahu hiyare jhagaraa pariyo pahile fatt hai kauan |21|

‘The point is who will enact first (his leaving and rising of Sun).(21)
