ਹਮ ਤੁਮ ਕੋਟ ਦੁਆਰੇ ਜੈਹੈ ॥

ham tum kott duaare jaihai |

ਐਸੇ ਪੁਰਖ ਲਹੈ ਤਿਹ ਲਯੈਹੈ ॥

aise purakh lahai tih layaihai |

‘I and you (the minister) will go out and if we come across such a person.

ਰਾਜ ਸਾਜ ਤਾਹੀ ਕੋ ਦੀਜੈ ॥

raaj saaj taahee ko deejai |

ਮੇਰੋ ਬਚਨ ਸ੍ਰਵਨ ਸੁਨਿ ਲੀਜੈ ॥੯॥

mero bachan sravan sun leejai |9|

‘Then, listen carefully, the reign of the Kingdom will be given to him.(9)

ਮਰਤੇ ਪਤਿ ਮੁਹਿ ਬਚਨ ਉਚਾਰੇ ॥

marate pat muhi bachan uchaare |

ਸੋ ਹੌਂ ਉਚਰਤ ਸਾਥ ਤੁਮਾਰੇ ॥

so hauan ucharat saath tumaare |

‘At the time of the death my husband had willed this and I am telling you so.

ਦਿਜ ਬਰ ਸ੍ਰਾਪ ਭੂਪ ਕੋ ਦਿਯੋ ॥

dij bar sraap bhoop ko diyo |

ਤਾ ਤੇ ਭੇਖ ਰੰਕ ਕੋ ਕਿਯੋ ॥੧੦॥

taa te bhekh rank ko kiyo |10|

‘A priest had passed a curse on the Raja that he would become a pauper.(10)
