ਕਾਢਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਪਹੂੰਚਿਯੋ ਤਬੈ ਤੁਰਤ ਹੀ ਜਾਰ ॥

kaadt kripaan pahoonchiyo tabai turat hee jaar |

He took out his sword and stepped forward.

ਭਰਿ ਮੂੰਠੀ ਕਰ ਰੇਤ ਕੀ ਗਯੋ ਆਖਿ ਮੈ ਡਾਰਿ ॥੭॥

bhar moontthee kar ret kee gayo aakh mai ddaar |7|

Then he (the friend) pinched some sand and threw in his eyes.(7)

ਅੰਧ ਭਯੋ ਬੈਠੋ ਰਹਿਯੋ ਗਯੋ ਜਾਰ ਤਬ ਭਾਜ ॥

andh bhayo baittho rahiyo gayo jaar tab bhaaj |

He became blind and kept sitting and the lover ran away.

ਏਕ ਚਛੁ ਕੀ ਬਾਤ ਸੁਨਿ ਰੀਝਿ ਰਹੇ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ॥੮॥

ek chachh kee baat sun reejh rahe mahaaraaj |8|

Thus listening to the tale of one-eyed man, the Raja was much please.(8)(1)
