ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਆਗੇ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਆਵੈ ॥

mrig jaa ke aage hvai aavai |

ਵਹੈ ਆਪਨੋ ਤੁਰੈ ਧਵਾਵੈ ॥

vahai aapano turai dhavaavai |

‘In whose sight the deer came, he should put his horse behind,

ਕੈ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਮਾਰੈ ਕੈ ਗਿਰਿ ਮਰੈ ॥

kai mrig maarai kai gir marai |

ਯੌ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਕੌ ਦਰਸਨ ਨਹਿ ਕਰੈ ॥੬॥

yau grih kau darasan neh karai |6|

‘Either he should kill the deer or should never came back to’ show me his face.(6)

ਹੁਕਮ ਧਨੀ ਕੋ ਐਸੋ ਭਯੋ ॥

hukam dhanee ko aiso bhayo |

ਰਾਜ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਆਗੇ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਗਯੋ ॥

raaj putr aage mrig gayo |

With the grace of God, a deer came to confront the royal prince.

ਸੁਮਤਿ ਸਿੰਘ ਤਬ ਤੁਰੈ ਧਵਾਯੋ ॥

sumat singh tab turai dhavaayo |

ਪਾਛੈ ਲਗਿਯੋ ਹਿਰਨ ਕੋ ਆਯੋ ॥੭॥

paachhai lagiyo hiran ko aayo |7|

Then Sumat Singh ran his horse and chased the deer.(7)
