Fourth Mehl:
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਹੈ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥
guramukh antar saant hai man tan naam samaae |
The Gurmukh is filled with peace and tranquility deep within. His mind and body are absorbed in the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਨਾਮੁ ਚਿਤਵੈ ਨਾਮੋ ਪੜੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਹੈ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥
naam chitavai naamo parrai naam rahai liv laae |
He thinks of the Naam, and reads the Naam; he remains lovingly attuned to the Naam.
ਨਾਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਗਈ ਬਿਲਾਇ ॥
naam padaarath paaeeai chintaa gee bilaae |
He obtains the Treasure of the Naam, and is rid of anxiety.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਨਾਮੁ ਊਪਜੈ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਭੁਖ ਸਭ ਜਾਇ ॥
satigur miliai naam aoopajai trisanaa bhukh sabh jaae |
Meeting with the True Guru, the Naam wells up, and all hunger and thirst depart.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੇ ਰਤਿਆ ਨਾਮੋ ਪਲੈ ਪਾਇ ॥੨॥
naanak naame ratiaa naamo palai paae |2|
O Nanak, one who is imbued with the Naam, gathers the Naam in his lap. ||2||
