ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Aasaa, Fifth Mehl:

ਅਨਿਕ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੀਐ ॥

anik bhaant kar sevaa kareeai |

Serve Him in many different ways;

ਜੀਉ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਧਨੁ ਆਗੈ ਧਰੀਐ ॥

jeeo praan dhan aagai dhareeai |

Dedicate your soul, your breath of life and your wealth to Him.

ਪਾਨੀ ਪਖਾ ਕਰਉ ਤਜਿ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥

paanee pakhaa krau taj abhimaan |

Carry water for Him, and wave the fan over Him - renounce your ego.

ਅਨਿਕ ਬਾਰ ਜਾਈਐ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੁ ॥੧॥

anik baar jaaeeai kurabaan |1|

Make yourself a sacrifice to Him, time and time again. ||1||

ਸਾਈ ਸੁਹਾਗਣਿ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਈ ॥

saaee suhaagan jo prabh bhaaee |

She alone is the happy soul-bride, who is pleasing to God.

ਤਿਸ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਉ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

tis kai sang milau meree maaee |1| rahaau |

In her company, I may meet Him, O my mother. ||1||Pause||

ਦਾਸਨਿ ਦਾਸੀ ਕੀ ਪਨਿਹਾਰਿ ॥

daasan daasee kee panihaar |

I am the water-carrier of the slaves of His slaves.

ਉਨੑ ਕੀ ਰੇਣੁ ਬਸੈ ਜੀਅ ਨਾਲਿ ॥

auna kee ren basai jeea naal |

I treasure in my soul the dust of their feet.

ਮਾਥੈ ਭਾਗੁ ਤ ਪਾਵਉ ਸੰਗੁ ॥

maathai bhaag ta paavau sang |

By that good destiny inscribed upon my forehead, I obtain their society.

ਮਿਲੈ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅਪੁਨੈ ਰੰਗਿ ॥੨॥

milai suaamee apunai rang |2|

Through His Love, the Lord Master meets me. ||2||

ਜਾਪ ਤਾਪ ਦੇਵਉ ਸਭ ਨੇਮਾ ॥

jaap taap devau sabh nemaa |

I dedicate all to Him - chanting and meditation, austerity and religious observances.

ਕਰਮ ਧਰਮ ਅਰਪਉ ਸਭ ਹੋਮਾ ॥

karam dharam arpau sabh homaa |

I offer all to Him - good actions, righteous conduct and incense burning.

ਗਰਬੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਤਜਿ ਹੋਵਉ ਰੇਨ ॥

garab mohu taj hovau ren |

Renouncing pride and attachment, I become the dust of the feet of the Saints.

ਉਨੑ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਦੇਖਉ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਨੈਨ ॥੩॥

auna kai sang dekhau prabh nain |3|

In their society, I behold God with my eyes. ||3||

ਨਿਮਖ ਨਿਮਖ ਏਹੀ ਆਰਾਧਉ ॥

nimakh nimakh ehee aaraadhau |

Each and every moment, I contemplate and adore Him.

ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰੈਣਿ ਏਹ ਸੇਵਾ ਸਾਧਉ ॥

dinas rain eeh sevaa saadhau |

Day and night, I serve Him like this.

ਭਏ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਗੁਪਾਲ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ॥

bhe kripaal gupaal gobind |

The Lord of the Universe, the Cherisher of the World, has become merciful;

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਖਸਿੰਦ ॥੪॥੩੩॥੮੪॥

saadhasang naanak bakhasind |4|33|84|

in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, O Nanak, He forgives us. ||4||33||84||
