Maajh, Fifth Mehl:
ਜੀਅ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਨਹਿ ਅਧਾਰਾ ॥
jeea praan prabh maneh adhaaraa |
God is the Breath of Life of my soul, the Support of my mind.
ਭਗਤ ਜੀਵਹਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
bhagat jeeveh gun gaae apaaraa |
His devotees live by singing the Glorious Praises of the Infinite Lord.
ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇ ਧਿਆਇ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
gun nidhaan amrit har naamaa har dhiaae dhiaae sukh paaeaa jeeo |1|
The Ambrosial Name of the Lord is the Treasure of Excellence. Meditating, meditating on the Lord's Name, I have found peace. ||1||
ਮਨਸਾ ਧਾਰਿ ਜੋ ਘਰ ਤੇ ਆਵੈ ॥
manasaa dhaar jo ghar te aavai |
One whose heart's desires lead him from his own home,
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਜਨਮੁ ਮਰਣੁ ਮਿਟਾਵੈ ॥
saadhasang janam maran mittaavai |
To the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, shall be rid of the cycle of birth and death.
ਆਸ ਮਨੋਰਥੁ ਪੂਰਨੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਭੇਟਤ ਗੁਰ ਦਰਸਾਇਆ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
aas manorath pooran hovai bhettat gur darasaaeaa jeeo |2|
His hopes and desires are fulfilled, when he gains the Blessed Vision of the Guru's Darshan. ||2||
ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਕਿਛੁ ਮਿਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਨੀ ॥
agam agochar kichh mit nahee jaanee |
The limits of the Inaccessible and Unfathomable Lord cannot be known.
ਸਾਧਿਕ ਸਿਧ ਧਿਆਵਹਿ ਗਿਆਨੀ ॥
saadhik sidh dhiaaveh giaanee |
The seekers, the Siddhas, those beings of miraculous spiritual powers, and the spiritual teachers, all meditate on Him.
ਖੁਦੀ ਮਿਟੀ ਚੂਕਾ ਭੋਲਾਵਾ ਗੁਰਿ ਮਨ ਹੀ ਮਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਇਆ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
khudee mittee chookaa bholaavaa gur man hee meh pragattaaeaa jeeo |3|
Thus, their egos are erased, and their doubts are dispelled. The Guru has enlightened their minds. ||3||
ਅਨਦ ਮੰਗਲ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਨਿਧਾਨਾ ॥
anad mangal kaliaan nidhaanaa |
I chant the Name of the Lord, the Treasure of bliss,
ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਖਾਨਾ ॥
sookh sehaj har naam vakhaanaa |
Joy, salvation, intuitive peace and poise.
ਹੋਇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅਪਨਾ ਨਾਉ ਨਾਨਕ ਘਰ ਮਹਿ ਆਇਆ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੨੫॥੩੨॥
hoe kripaal suaamee apanaa naau naanak ghar meh aaeaa jeeo |4|25|32|
When my Lord and Master blessed me with His Mercy, O Nanak, then His Name entered the home of my mind. ||4||25||32||
