Gauree Poorbee, Fourth Mehl:

ਹਮ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੀ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਅਗਿਆਨ ਮਤਿ ਗੁਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥

ham ahankaaree ahankaar agiaan mat gur miliai aap gavaaeaa |

I am egotistical and conceited, and my intellect is ignorant. Meeting the Guru, my selfishness and conceit have been abolished.

ਹਉਮੈ ਰੋਗੁ ਗਇਆ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਧਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇਆ ॥੧॥

haumai rog geaa sukh paaeaa dhan dhan guroo har raaeaa |1|

The illness of egotism is gone, and I have found peace. Blessed, blessed is the Guru, the Sovereign Lord King. ||1||

ਰਾਮ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

raam gur kai bachan har paaeaa |1| rahaau |

I have found the Lord, through the Teachings of the Guru. ||1||Pause||

ਮੇਰੈ ਹੀਅਰੈ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਇ ਕੀ ਗੁਰਿ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਪੰਥੁ ਬਤਾਇਆ ॥

merai heearai preet raam raae kee gur maarag panth bataaeaa |

My heart is filled with love for the Sovereign Lord King; the Guru has shown me the path and the way to find Him.

ਮੇਰਾ ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਸਭੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਆਗੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਵਿਛੁੜਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਗਲਿ ਲਾਇਆ ॥੨॥

meraa jeeo pindd sabh satigur aagai jin vichhurriaa har gal laaeaa |2|

My soul and body all belong to the Guru; I was separated, and He has led me into the Lord's Embrace. ||2||

ਮੇਰੈ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਗੀ ਦੇਖਨ ਕਉ ਗੁਰਿ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਨਾਲਿ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ ॥

merai antar preet lagee dekhan kau gur hirade naal dikhaaeaa |

Deep within myself, I would love to see the Lord; the Guru has inspired me to see Him within my heart.

ਸਹਜ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਭਇਆ ਮਨਿ ਮੋਰੈ ਗੁਰ ਆਗੈ ਆਪੁ ਵੇਚਾਇਆ ॥੩॥

sehaj anand bheaa man morai gur aagai aap vechaaeaa |3|

Within my mind, intuitive peace and bliss have arisen; I have sold myself to the Guru. ||3||

ਹਮ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਪਾਪ ਬਹੁ ਕੀਨੇ ਕਰਿ ਦੁਸਟੀ ਚੋਰ ਚੁਰਾਇਆ ॥

ham aparaadh paap bahu keene kar dusattee chor churaaeaa |

I am a sinner - I have committed so many sins; I am a villainous, thieving thief.

ਅਬ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਾਗਤਿ ਆਏ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਲਾਜ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੧੧॥੨੫॥੬੩॥

ab naanak saranaagat aae har raakhahu laaj har bhaaeaa |4|11|25|63|

Now, Nanak has come to the Lord's Sanctuary; preserve my honor, Lord, as it pleases Your Will. ||4||11||25||63||
