ਫਰੀਦਾ ਮਹਲ ਨਿਸਖਣ ਰਹਿ ਗਏ ਵਾਸਾ ਆਇਆ ਤਲਿ ॥

fareedaa mehal nisakhan reh ge vaasaa aaeaa tal |

Fareed, the mansions are vacant; those who lived in them have gone to live underground.

ਗੋਰਾਂ ਸੇ ਨਿਮਾਣੀਆ ਬਹਸਨਿ ਰੂਹਾਂ ਮਲਿ ॥

goraan se nimaaneea bahasan roohaan mal |

They remain there, in those unhonored graves.

ਆਖੀਂ ਸੇਖਾ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਚਲਣੁ ਅਜੁ ਕਿ ਕਲਿ ॥੯੭॥

aakheen sekhaa bandagee chalan aj ki kal |97|

O Shaykh, dedicate yourself to God; you will have to depart, today or tomorrow. ||97||
