ਲਖ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਲਖ ਲਖ ਗੁਣ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ।

lakh siaanap surat lakh lakh gun chaturaaee |

One may have millions of wisdoms, consciousness, qualities, meditations, honours, japs,

ਲਖ ਮਤਿ ਬੁਧਿ ਸੁਧਿ ਗਿਆਨ ਧਿਆਨ ਲਖ ਪਤਿ ਵਡਿਆਈ ।

lakh mat budh sudh giaan dhiaan lakh pat vaddiaaee |

Penances, continences, bathings on pilgrimage centres, karmas, dharmas yogas,

ਲਖ ਜਪ ਤਪ ਲਖ ਸੰਜਮਾਂ ਲਖ ਤੀਰਥ ਨ੍ਹਾਈ ।

lakh jap tap lakh sanjamaan lakh teerath nhaaee |

Enjoyments rind recitations of holy scriptures to his credit.

ਕਰਮ ਧਰਮ ਲਖ ਜੋਗ ਭੋਗ ਲਖ ਪਾਠ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ।

karam dharam lakh jog bhog lakh paatth parrhaaee |

But still, if such a person controlled by ego wishes to be noticed by others,

ਆਪੁ ਗਣਾਇ ਵਿਗੁਚਣਾ ਓਹੁ ਥਾਇ ਨ ਪਾਈ ।

aap ganaae viguchanaa ohu thaae na paaee |

He has gone astray and cannot fathom the Lord (and His creation).

ਪੀਰ ਮੁਰੀਦਾਂ ਪਿਰਹੜੀ ਹੋਇ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਈ ।੧੮।

peer mureedaan piraharree hoe aap gavaaee |18|

If the love prevails between the Guru and the disciple, the sense of ego vanishes (in the thin air).
